Draft pour to shaker. Heavy haze yellow, slight retention, much lacing. Nose light pineapple and mango. Taste starts juicy tropical fruit and finishes piney and bitter. Medium body and light carbonation. Great overall beer!

Poor body and rancid residual hop character are common in NE IPAs done wrong. Unfortunately Charlotte hasn't quite wrangled the complexities perfectly yet, but it's an early iteration of a brand new style. Worth a drink to compare to more refined juicys to see how NOT to do a juicy.

Appearance: Arrives hazy and honey colored with a nice head that leaves a few wisps

Smell: Juicy tangerine and pith tones

Taste: Bright and juicy forward, with tangerine flavors dominant; through the middle, a pithy bitterness develops that lingers into the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: An interesting beer that travels the continent in a sip; starts out like an NE IPA and finishes on the west coast

Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a bright cloudy yellow with a small white head. The aroma is all for us and this follows through to the taste.

Had a few+ of these at Brickhouse Tavern (Davidson, NC). Pretty complex but not overly so – layered tropical, bitter, malt notes with a surprisingly clean finish. Careful, these can sneak up on you @ 7%

Pours from the growler into an imperial nonic a slightly murky tangerine infused lighter golden color with a thinner bone white head atop.Wow just juicy orange and tangerine notes in a big way in the nose, wow that's some real shit there,a hint of green garden shows thru as well.Starts out citrusy with a hint of grass and slight spice,a crisp dryer malt base holds up well to the sweeter citrus fruit flavors.Only mild complaint for me is the slightly sharp body but int's not a major hindrance.Another of the new school NE style IPA's and I'am enjoying all I come into contact with.

I'm trying this at the Afton Tavern near my Bestie's in Charlotte. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Tangerine dream presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall a very solid beer.

Local NC foray into the so called "NE" Style IPA.

Name fits the bill with super bright "hoppy OJ" like nose. Decent malt present. Nice to get a few days old--draft only. Feels lighter than 7%

Very similar to Born Yesterday--a complement. Somewhere in between the NE juice bombs and a WCIPA

Well done.

Fresh out the box! Brand new brewery in the heart of the Plaza Midwood neighborhood in Charlotte, NC.

A: Pours a bright, golden color with a sparkling, fluffy head. Pretty impressive considering they've only been open for 2 days.

S: Juicy hops, fresh cut grass, topical notes, and bread. The malt seems to overwhelm the hops a bit.

T: Tropical hops, mint, bready malt. Again, impressed with what they've done here. Certainly a hop forward beer, but the malt brings a balance.

F: Medium body, carbonation. Finishes quite dry on the tounge.

O: I ordered 2 flights so I could taste everything they had to offer. I was told this brewery was going specialize in Saisons & Lagers, but Juicy J is the one that stood out. I love 7% America IPAs, and this one nearly delivers with the best of em!
