Notes:
Coming To Fruition is just that: an idea. We started with multiple barrels of a multi-fermentation sour, and aged them in French oak for a year. Then we added Oregon marionberries for the last four months of the aging process, and blended them for this delectable American wild sour.

a very cool barrel aged wild beer here, packed with enough marionberries to give this thing the color of red wine, and although it has hardly any head at all from the bottle, it remains attractive, with such a deep purple hue to it. aroma is sharply acidic to me, more sour than funky, but with a lot of oak on it softening that element some, my mouth puckers and waters just from the smell, and the fruit adds a needed sweet layer to it, ripe and summery. flavor is nicely complex, sour as it is, with the richness and fruit depth of a high end pinot noir, things like plum and prune, blackberry, even cocoa come out in here, if it were just a little less sour, these things would be allowed to linger longer, which i guess is my only real issue with this one, other than the carbonation, which is almost nonexistent. some lemon in the acid, some woody funk, farmy weirdness too, better as it warms, and the berries are awesome in here too, lots of them, ripe, fresh, they really define this for me, a killer use of this fruit. looks like they have a few other fruited versions of this beer, which i would be really interested to try. the taste here overall is very good and relatively unique, a great first beer for me from these guys, i liked it a whole lot.
