Although it's alcohol volume is a bit high, you can easily get the sweet fruit taste. I don't personally enjoy it that much but it was still tasty. Would recommend if you are in to fruit flavors.

L- Dark Brown Cola like color.

S- Caramel, Brown sugar, fig, raisin

T- Fruity with a hint of caramel, Pleasant carbonation. No hints of ABV. Goes great with a nice burger

F- Smooth and surprisingly light feel

O- My go to 'everyday' dubbel. Haven't found another that beats this at it's reasonable price point

An 11.2 ounce Euro bottle poured into a shaker pint glass. Good looking bottle/label!

Appearance - A beautiful copper/ruby red color. Big root-beer-float head. Great clarity. Great stickage. A very handsome beer!

Smell - Big malt nose. Sweet. Toasty. A whiff of Belgian sour. No hop smell to speak of.

Taste - Big malt-forward flavor. Sweet. Toasty. Black licorice. A bit of Belian sour taste. The hops are in the background (way back there).

Mouth - Substantial.

Overall - I like this beer. I realize that this is probably a commercialized version of a real Belgian Abbey ale but I don't care (I'm also a sucker for Leffe Brown). My only knock on this beer is that it has a bit of a metallic taste to it. Other than that, she's very chugable!

A 330ml bottle from Sainsburys in Pontypridd, Wales. Pours a clear dark amber colour with one finger of off white head. It has a cherry aroma. Taste is mainly dried dark fruits. Light body with low carbonation. Amazing lacing. Smooth finish. A very nice beer.

Good beer, in that quality and price are adjusted. Before the devastating panorama of Spanish and Catalan beers to dine with a beer right is a pleasure. Not a beer drink beer but if you take a good while eating and looking for something more than a soft drink flavored beer.

Grimbergen Double-Ambree

Look: Dark-brown color. Ruby on the light. No head left it in the glass.

Smell: Caramel, very sweet on the smell, brown sugar, some malt also are present.

Taste: Malt caramel, brown sugar. The sweetness goes over the alcohol taste and it is a bit disturbing.

Feel: Not so well, the sweetness is way to present.

So overall would I recommend it ? Sure, but notice it is a very sweet beer almost like candy.

Pours light brown with an off-white head of somewhat little retention. The smells is spicy, vinous and intense. On the other hand, the flavors (while matching the nose in their nature) are very mild. This is a much more vinous Dubbel than I'm used to (I like it I must confess). Medium body.

from a single into a nonic, this pours a dark glowering ruby with a big thick foamy 2 finger head with good retention and good lacing. Nose is a whole lot of sweetish malt, but tough for me to discriminate different layers or dimensions -- some dark fruit, definitely, and some faint molasses and caramel. Taste is a bit better than the nose, fairly strong and a few more layers, but still not a lot of depth...I get some date and raisin, some sugary toffee, and some fruity notes that are kind of light (maybe cherry or apple). Mouthful is ok: nice full flavors and substantial body, but fairly light and clean feel for the style... doesn't feel at all heavy and only a little of the malty sweet fruitiness lingers.

L: Quite clear amber color, two finger tan colored head, messy lacing, good carbonation. Looks like coca-cola, basically.

S: Belgian yeast.

T: Sweet, Belgian yeast. Nice! Much much better than I expected.

F: Extremely light bodied, smooth and drinkable.

O: Pleasantly surprised by this one. Not bad at all and super cheap!
