Double False Pattern is our exceptionally-rated soft, hazy pale ale that’s made from oats and heavily hopped with Mosaic but, like, doubled. We took False Pattern and overloaded it with everything: extra oats, extra Mosaic, and pumped up the ABV to 7.5%. The end result is a crazy smooth juicy whale of a Double Pale Ale that’s, like, really good.

A - Pours a hazy, darkly tinted orange, with a substantial white head of varied sized bubbles, fading to a sticky cap, with lots of clumpy lacing.

S - Pungent orange creme, pine and resin, pith and spun sugar. Smells pretty good, really.

T - Tastes pretty good, too. Orange juice is front, but there are tropical notes of pineapple and mango, a middle offers a solid malt core that reinforces the front's fruit attack, and a mildly pithy and pine note lingers through the finish.

M - Moderate weight, slightly sticky, with a subtle resin build over time. The scrubbing carbonation and dry close help, but do not completely lift it, but it is actually quite pleasant at this level.

O - This Modist is quite solid. Satisfying as a drinker, delicious with some complexity, and enough heft to earn the "double" in the name. It builds on the winning formula of the original.

Looks great, bright yellow and hazy with lace and all that. Smell is all mosaic hops, as well as the taste. Flowery and grassy and bitter. For the hop heads

1st from brewer, 4th review on BA. APA is a favorite style, but this is so overloaded with hops drinks like DIPA.
a) Loose head that laces well over hazed orange-amber body.
s) Where would we be without the invention of fruity Mosaic hops in 2012? welcoming aroma of pine and berries.
t) Follows aroma, gets more powerful, a bit of medicine cabinet, cough syrup, shellac.
f) Prickly, clean.
o) I prefer Doubel Dales from Oskar as smoother and more hop nuance. But very good.

A very, very good beer. Strong, but pleasant aromas of mango, tangerine and light pine. Taste is similar with a smooth almost fluffy mouthfeel. Overall a super solid, not very bitter, but tasty beer.

02/16/22 on bottom of can.

A: Apricot hazy hue with 2-finger off-white sticky head with good retention and a solid band of sticky lacing.

S: Strong mango with underlying herbal, honeysuckle note with plenty of pineapple and lemon-lime with low esters.

T: Flavor is complex and multilayered with mango, peach, lemon-lime, tangerine, and pineapple with low esters and low bitterness.

M: Incredibly soft and smooth with full body and long soft finish

O: Exceptional double NEIPA. Not the most original but well-executed - you get an excellent version of what you are looking for.

Hazy bright yellow with a finger or so of white foam. Huge citrus nose, orange and lime especially, some pineapple too, hops are resinous and piney. Taste follow suit, hops are not as dry as expected for a ddh beer, huge juicy citrus runs this beer with some resin. Feels juicy and wet with hops resin and bitters on the finish, kind of flat as it warms. Hits all the right notes for the flavor profile, so hazy hop heads will be more than pleased!

Love the mouthfeel on this one very juicy and smooth, the oats really make this one fully bodied for a N.E. style.

Pours what has become your average NEIPA hazy pineapple/apricot color with a thick yellow tinted off white head. Good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is muted, pineapple and citrus. Flavor follows the nose, sweet mixed tropical and citrus fruits with no real hop bitterness involved. Feel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall a decent albeit overpriced local beer. Modist got proud of their stuff quick. Two or three bucks less per four pack and I'm all in.
