An oatted up American Pale Ale, electric dirt, sticky and soft. Apricot pulp and honeydew melon nectar. An eclectic heirloom grist gives a wrinkle of crackery biscuit malt, just ‘nuff to let an ewey dewey combo of Belma, Citra and Mosaic hops pop, bright and dank.

Pours a fairly thin head, just off-white, does have decent retention, lacing thick but no stickiness. Very light yellow colored liquid yet opaque. The nose has a pretty floral lift to it while grounded in a fresh herbal streak, almost smells minty at times, bountiful grapefruit citrus, pine sap, the fruit scents mainly melon, apricot, kiwi, juicy not biting. Medium-bodied, the carbonation presents a steady light prickle, not enough to get it dancing on the tongue. Very clean profile of mineral water, white grapefruit to naval orange citrus, pine needles, and fresh biscuit. Smooth finish. As in the nose not particularly fruity but it doesn't need to be as the melon, peach, apricot, mango in proportion to the whole. Mild herbaceous aftertaste. Perhaps too hoppy for a traditional APA but that's a minor quibble. (Canned 1/21/22)

Pours murky orange with minimal head.
The nose is peach and melon, with some faint diesel-y hop intensity in the background.
The taste mostly follows. Honeydew and peach, with a minor yeast bite and some leafy green on the backend.
Not the cleanest pale ale ever, but ultimately pretty good. 4/5.

I was surprised to see that haven't reviewed this gem because I've been drinking it since it was first brewed. It pours a hazy, not quite opaque dirty golden-color with an attractive, large fluffy head and lacing with really good retention. It's a pretty a pale ale as you'll find. The nose is great: pineapple, mango, lemon, and a whiff of caramel. It's a classic fruity APA. There's pineapple, tangerine, sweet tropical fruit, with light but discernible caramel. It has everything I would want and the flavors are bold. It features lively carbonation and the 6.2% ABV give it substance and character. This is just a well-crafted APA that is totally satisfying. There's debate whether it's as good as Sneak Box but that's purely academic. They are both great. I look forward to whenever Twin Elephant has Lil' Shimmy Ye on draught or in cans.

Unfiltered Pale Ale with great accents that make you go wow!! My favorite beer is Kane Sneakbox but Little Shimmey is actually better which I can't believe I'm saying. Little Shimmey we are going to become good friends. LOL
