Sparkingly clear golden, forming a small white head with good retention and sparse lacing. Swirling produces a head that looks like cooking pancakes. Carbonation is moderate. Aroma is kinda soapy, like a perfumy shower soap with floral accents, lots of hay, mild dustiness. Mouthfeel is very soft with a medium light body. Bitterness is rather mild, but stronger than the Budvar with herbacous notes in the aftertaste. Alcohol is barely there, but adds a touch of peppery flourish in the finish.

Rather non-descript Eurolager...nothing standout here. Easy to drink, but not something I would seek out.

Very nice color-- much deeper gold than most pils. Totally clear with an okay head that dissipated pretty quickly. Slightly grassy aroma, some euro-hop-funk as well.

Taste is good, definitely fuller than the average pils, higher malt presence makes the mouthfeel desirable, but that there's slightly too many bubbles takes some points away for me. Some lingering bitterness and sweetness at the same time, kind of odd.

Overall not a bad choice, but probably better on-tap in Germany or better yet, the Czech Republic. To me, Pilsner Urquell is a better experience if we're talking bottles. Need to find out what it's like fresh from the barrel.

Pours clear gold with a few bubbles that settle down. It forms a bubbly, white head that stays well.

The beer gives of a strong malts smell with some grain & wheat.

Sweet to begin with followed by a nice, bitter aftertaste.

Good carbonation & very crisp in the finish. A refreshing mouth-feel with slight fizz.

A solid pilsener overall which was well balanced & quite refreshing.

Pours a medium golden colour, with about an inch and a half of thick, foamy head. Recedes quickly in little piles, almost like seafoam. Good lacing.

The smell is nothing too interesting. Hoppy, a bit of straw. Neither good nor bad.

Tastes like an above-average inexpensive pilsner, a little bit sweet, juicy hops, some bread. For a couple of bucks a can, it's pretty good, but not the best Czech pilsner I can get.

Unfortunately, this can languished for a bit longer in my fridge (I went on a couple of brewery tours since purchasing this and it got lost in the chaos). It's a bit flat, but I've had this one before and I know the carbonation is moderate. Not too thin for a mouthfeel.

All and all, this is a fairly good pilsner, and for the cost, it's not bad having one or two on hand (just make sure you get to them!). I prefer Urquell, but it's not bad to pick this one up. Not bad, but it won't blow you away.

I was thrown off a bit, since the label in Germany is different from the Czech version. But I'm pretty sure now this is the same beer.

Frighteningly clear-yellow color. Modest white head with heavy carbonation. The smell is a hoppy-sweet balance.

There is a heavy hop taste to this - nearly to the IPA range, but not quite. It's bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. Sweetness is also mixed in, weaving in and out of the hoppy dominance, until it all falls away.

The mouthfeel is sharp and tart, and the drinkability is good, though I am not a huge fan of this flavor structure. There is nothing wrong with the recipe or execution, it's just not one of my favorite combinations.

Serving: Can
Best before: Dec-20-2017

A:
Pours crystal clear, rich gold with a perfect puffy glop of white head that sticks like glue before eventually dissipating. Great retention; sheets of lace. (4.25)

S:
Balance between grains and light hop spice with some wet cereal sweetness. (3.25)

T:
Cereals, lightly grassy, Some peppery and herbal hop in the finish as it warms it gets pretty sweet for me. (3.5)

M:
Zesty yet creamy body with medium carbonation and a slight bite in finish. (3.75)

O:
Pretty good Czech pils.
There is just about enough of everything, it is fairly well-balanced and there is a nice carbonic/hop bite. My main gripe is that it was a little sticky towards the end and ventured into flavors that some pale lagers do but which I personally don't really love, but aside from that a tasty beer. Not too much of any one thing.
I would probably have it again, but I would have to say I prefer other pilsners.

Pale golden colour, just over one finger of white sticky-fluffy head, lots of lace left behind, honestly one of the best looking beers in recent memory. Smell is grainy and malty, grassy with some floral scents, lightly bitter hop and lemon rind. Taste is malty and grassy, lightly bitter, mild hop bite, lemon, good balance, clean finish, grainy aftertaste. Medium carbonation, light body and fairly thin feel leaves a bit to be desired. Nice and easy drinking, refreshing and enjoyable even if it is a little one dimensional and simple but sometimes that is all you are looking for.
