11.2 oz (GREEN >_<) bottle into a wine glass.

A: Pours a clear golden color. The head is a finger high, with a white shade. Its texture is surprisingly creamy, and even has some decent retention. A thick ring of lacing is left behind, due to how sticky the froth is.

S: Unfortunately, this about a 7.5/10 on the skunk scale. Sure, I also pick up some malt sweetness and touches of Saaz grassiness, but the skunk pretty much takes this over. What a shame - although, beers like this usually taste pretty good even when they're skunked (see: Urquell, Pilsner).

T: Fairly sweet for the style. There's a combination of malt sweetness and even some cereal grain, although diacetyl is somewhat low for the style (not a bad thing!) There even seem to be touches of white wine sweetness lingering throughout. It could also use a touch more hoppiness. While flavor-wise it's closer to PBR than Urquell, this could still get the job done if so inclined.

M: Not as bone-dry as I enjoy from a pilsner, but nonetheless, it does a good job of quenching one's thirst. There is a nice crispness to it, along with decent carbonation. Still, I can't help but wish it were even more effortless.

O: This tastes 'cheaper' than something like Urquell, but it isn't exactly bad, either. Still, considering I could easily get the former at the same price of this offering, it's hard for me to want to revisit this.

2.85/5: A poor man's Urquell

A: Light lager colour. White head with dainty lacing.

S: Soft lager smell. Nothing much.

T: Very mild compared to other Czech lagers. Very little dankness. Very soft lemonade in the finish. Slightly chlorinated and plasticy. Light mouthfeel with soft carbonation.

O: Not up there with the big boys.

Sampling right now on 7/14/14. Comes in a 500ml (16.9 ounce) bottle. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a handled glass "CHEERS-BOSTON" stein mug.

Pours a golden-yellow in color with about a 1/2 finger of a white head that settles to a thin layer on top and sides. LOTS of lacing is seen with each sip, close to rings actually. Very surprised! The aroma is mostly of malts with a hint of floral. Not 'skunky' really as most of the brews that come in a green bottle for some reason. Perfect carbonation. More going on with the taste with the malts, grains, breaddy yeast with a sweet crisp dry finish. More drinking of the brew brings out a light floral taste mixed in there as well. Overall, a decent brew.

Golden yellow in color with an amber hue. Poured with a short fizzy foam that quickly dissipated. Bready and caramel malt aromas are dominant with faint herbal hop and buttery notes. Medium bodied with a slightly oily feel up front followed by a light tangy feel through the middle. Burnt caramel and bready malt flavors up front followed by light herbal hop flavors that try very hard to produce a crisp snap that this style is known for, but it falls a bit short. Finishes with bready, caramel malt aftertaste.

Pours gold with good clarity and some bubbles are seen rising to the top. A fat head of white foam that leaves a ring and some lacing. Nose is not remarkable. It's clean. Not even too much malty scent. Just a bit of malt scent and somemild hop grass. No fruity esters at all. Faint bit of musky spice as it warms. The taste is smooth mild and very even. Hops balnce this one unobtrusively for a breaddy but light taste. The mouthfeel is medium and has some good bite from carbonation. The spice is as much a part of the mouthfeel as are the bubbles and I like that. The malt is breaddy but not too sweet. Finishes clean and dry with no fruit flavors at all. There is a bit of sweet grass in the drink but it too is very mild. The hops become a bit floral and perfumey as it drinks and it tickles the back palate with that spice and dry bread.

I really like it.
