Had this on tap at the Parkway Tavern.

A - Definitely average appearance, a little lighter then I would have wanted.

S - Floral aromas. Not much more to say about this one.

T - I'm not sure if it was just a bad keg, but the taste was incredibly hoppy without any substance.

M - Oily is the only word I can use to describe it. Perhaps it was just the keg (?)

O - I was not a fan.

Im feeling indifferent with this one. Its got a nice honey color. Came with a nice white head that disappeared within about 10 minutes. Bitterness pops in the end. Has a crispness about it.

Not great, kinda skunky, might just be the place, trace in seattle, but underwhelmed, kinda bland for a pale ale.

notes: taste of this pale ale didn't agree with me. Just too bitter, almost astringent. Hops aren't diverse enough and just seem to blast you with a one-dimensional bitterness. Probably my least favorite beer I tried while in Seattle and not one I intend to drink again. I much preferred Miller Pond Pale Ale to Manny's.

Man I had this a long time ago, I think at the Yakima fresh hop fest. Has a darker than average amber color, 1/2" white head. Hop aromatics were mild. Usual grapefruit and forest descriptor.

Taste, this is one of those run of the mill pale ales. Light toasted pale malts, light hopping C hops. Easy to drink. Maybe a little more cara malt than I would like in the mouthfeel for sure. This is somewhat of a time capsule kind of pale ale. . . behold, the late 90s. This one actually comes close to achieving balance, but that is definitely what I want in a pale ale. Has some of the nuttiness and heft of a darker beer.

This beer out of the tap is too hazy for my liking. I do not particularly enjoy the aroma, but I consistently have that issue with the brewery so it might be personal taste.

The overall taste and feel are solid. That along with getting into the market and bars at the right time with aggressive distribution have made it a go to for many in Seattle.

The hazy look is reflected in an almost dirty taste. Great to sip but terrible to drink in excess. Mac & Jack's Amber (where the brewer came from) is superior in pure drinkability in my mind, but I am surely the minority opinion.

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a medium dark amber hue, almost brownish in the glass, the slightest bit of haze here as well. There is a puffy white head on it, spotty and inconsistent lacing.

S — Smells of sweet malts and a bit of hop, little bit earthy and fresh.

T — Tastes of nicely sweet malts as well as a decent hop balance. There isn't a ton going on here, but that is alright I suppose.

M — Light-Medium bodied, this is highly refreshing and drinkable.

O — OK overall, this is a gateway or entryway to craft beer, its just the tip of the iceberg, which is fine by me.
