This beer out of the tap is too hazy for my liking. I do not particularly enjoy the aroma, but I consistently have that issue with the brewery so it might be personal taste.

The overall taste and feel are solid. That along with getting into the market and bars at the right time with aggressive distribution have made it a go to for many in Seattle.

The hazy look is reflected in an almost dirty taste. Great to sip but terrible to drink in excess. Mac & Jack's Amber (where the brewer came from) is superior in pure drinkability in my mind, but I am surely the minority opinion.

Im feeling indifferent with this one. Its got a nice honey color. Came with a nice white head that disappeared within about 10 minutes. Bitterness pops in the end. Has a crispness about it.

after three different beers i had from these guys on my trip to seattle, the overall vibe i got was that they make relatively simple styles of beer, and do them quite well. there isnt much remarkable about this pale ale, its balanced and fresh tasting, malty enough without being sweet or heavy at any point. the hop profile is pretty basic, it doesnt have the punchy fruity complexion that is so on trend right now, this is a bit more old school and classic, which there isnt enough of anymore these days. light pine to it, good bitterness but only at the end, and very fresh from the tap. the malt has a light honey and biscuity note to it, but is quite simple. this is a session type pale for me, not demanding too much of my attention but also being very satisfying. the kind of pale ale that would be nice with sports, just sit and sip all day long. the old school branding adds to the vintage type of vibe i gather from this one too. solid beer, not the most progressive thing happening in the northwest right now, but a real serviceable pale.

Appearance: Deep orange with one finger of thick off-white head that slowly dissipates leaving minimal lacing.

Smell: Pine, hops.

Taste: grassy, some hop bitterness.

Feel: Decent carbonation. Crisp.

Overall: I was hoping for more of an IPA but this is a solid ale.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy orange brown body, no head, no lacing, no transparency. The smell had a strong grassiness up front, lightly hopped. The taste was mainly bitter as the hops take over, grassy bitter aftertaste, sticky finish. On the palate, it sat about at a light to medium, fairly sessionable, carbonation is spot on for the style and for me. Overall, good APA I’d have it again.

On tap @ Twisted Timber, Meridian ID.

Pours a hazy gold color with a good amount of head lacing that seems to last...decent amount of orange peel and some bittering hops balance the nose with some light breadiness bordering on caramel or graham cracker...taste follows, orange peel and some herbaceous notes as well. Light bitterness, clean finish.

Overall a light-bodied pale ale that isn't too bad, but doesn't do anything new.

Man I had this a long time ago, I think at the Yakima fresh hop fest. Has a darker than average amber color, 1/2" white head. Hop aromatics were mild. Usual grapefruit and forest descriptor.

Taste, this is one of those run of the mill pale ales. Light toasted pale malts, light hopping C hops. Easy to drink. Maybe a little more cara malt than I would like in the mouthfeel for sure. This is somewhat of a time capsule kind of pale ale. . . behold, the late 90s. This one actually comes close to achieving balance, but that is definitely what I want in a pale ale. Has some of the nuttiness and heft of a darker beer.

On-tap at the Tap Room, Seatac Airport, Seattle, WA:

Pours hazed golden with a thin white head. Thin lacing sticks.

The smell is of caramelized bread, nuts, an herbal touch.

The taste is of caramel bread, nuts. Sweetness balanced by an herbal hop bitterness. Pleasantly refreshing, balanced finish.

Very smooth and creamy, this is a well-balanced, enjoyable, easy-drinking pale ale!

Slightly hazy copper. Smooth creamy nose with just a tad light oaty malt. A bit biscuit with graham cracker and other herbaceous vegetable hop brightness. Finishes lightly dry, but smooth and easy with a slight dry clay earthy aftertaste with a touch of copper. Nicely balanced. Nice beer, but there are a lot of other IPAs out there I like better. Doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion.
