On tap at the Tap and Growler the other the day. Asked the bartender for a taste, and was so blown away, I ordered a pint.

The beer pours a light copper orange color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose, yowza! This beer smells great. I pick up considerable grapefruit rind, orange citrus, lime and light pine. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, with good bitterness on the finish. Balance is superb in this beer, as there's just enough sweet malt to impart a light tropical fruit flavor that blends well with the dry, hoppy, citrusy finish. Mouthfeels is medium bodied, and the beer finishes well, with a fairly clean, lightly bitter kiss of hops. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, and so drinkability is exellent (my pint glass was empty before I knew it).

This is easily the best beer I've ever had from Georgetown Brewing. Impressive.

On draught at the Dog & Pony Alehouse, my old stomping ground in Renton. Clear pale gold with a small white head leaving nice lace.

Smell is really resinous hops, just a touch of tangerine as well.

Taste is fierce hop assault, like chewing a pine cone. Only moderately bitter though.

Mouthful is bone dry. Light bodied.

Drinkability is high if you like a fierce west coast IPA. Maybe too much umph to session more then 2 without suffering palate fatigue.

Thanks to elrogish for dropping this beer on me during the Oregon 2017 camping trip. Very good beer, good shit.

Pours golden, 1/2" white head. Nice aromatic hoppy beer, plenty of tropical fruit notes going on. Very lush, maybe the best aroma of any Washington beer I've ever had. Taste was much the same, hit all the mango/passion fruit notes. Light pale malt body. Relatively dry, bitter. Seems like its a west coast style ipa with some newer proprietary hops. Carbonation on point. Its cool, the hop flavor is all over, there is pine, there is citrus, there is tropical fruit.

This is a totally drillable beer in warm weather. Would buy and consume mass quantities.

My favorite beer on Earth. Can't you tell? Looks great and the hops just jump out of my frozen pint glass. I think Georgetown should make a Bodhizafa cologne. I get a blast on the front end and Bodhi has the best back end I've experienced. Delish!

Review #1422

This my second beer from Georgetown, the first IPA, was delicious. I was reading a few articles about how this beer was flying under the radar for a solid IPA. The beer is 44 degrees and served in a pint glass. The pour of the beer produced a two-fingered white head. The creamy and airy foam has above average retention. As the head of the beer dissipated, it left some lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 6, deep gold with straw yellow hues. This beer is not cloudy.

The first aromas I detect are orange, floral, and biscuit. Nosing further in the glass, I smell grapefruit, pine, dankness, resin, toasted bread crumbs, a touch of honey, herbal, and floral esters.

The flavors of the beer are oranges, floral esters, biscuit, toasted bread crumbs, grapefruit, papaya, resin, a hint of honey, and a touch of herbal.

The mouthfeel of the beer is astringent and crisp.

The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and a medium-pus finish.

This beer is quaffable. The flavors are uncomplicated yet refined. The hop profile in the beer is excellent. I could drink several of these beers, and then not know what happens that night. The alcohol is devilishly hidden. Excellent IPA, a must-try for any hop enthusiast.

This one pours a very lightly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like herbal hops, freshly squeezed citrus, spicy hops, grapefruit, lemon, and light malt.

I guess this is very easily available in the Pacific Northwest - this is really impressive for basically a grocery store IPA. There's a very fresh, floral, and herbal hop character - not super bitter, but not anywhere near a "juice bomb" either. There's some hop spice, lemon rind, grapefruit, and clean and fresh citrus. There's just a touch of crackery malt, as well.

This is light bodied, and incredibly drinkable, with a super smooth and crisp finish.

I wish I had this easily available locally. I would order it a lot.

***The listing is wrong, this is not rotating availability. I can get this year round in Seattle***

I'm drinking this out of my Delirium Tremens snifter, which has been my go-to for the past year.

Beer pours clear out of the can until the very end. I know this, so I gently agitate the remaining beer before finishing the pour. IPA ends up being cloudy, but I would not call it a hazy/NE IPA.

Smells absolutely terrific, particularly when cold. It's like every single citrus fruit you can think of all had sex, and this is the offspring of their drunken orgy. As the beer warms, the alcohol emerges more, which isn't ideal for the style.

Taste mimics the smell. Medium low hop bitterness. High hop flavor of citrus and fruits. Little bit of malt in the background. Hops are the star of this show.

Mouthfeel is fine. Carbonation what it should be. Slight warmth from the alcohol, this is to be expected at 6.9%.

Overall this is currently one of my favorite IPAs. The aroma is absolutely a thing of beauty. The flavor is quite good as well, but the aroma is unparalleled amongst IPAs.

On draft at PDX

Medium gold in color with a very slight haze.
Almost no head but leaves some lacing as I drink it down.

Nice clean aroma of orange and citrus peel.

Taste hits the citrus zone. Slight orange and grapefruit notes.
Mouthfeel is medium as is the carbonation.
Bitterness doesn't push the limit but lingers nicely on the finish.

Another nice Oregon IPA.

12oz can

Pours almost two fingers of white head into my can style glass. Retention is above average, after 5 minutes I still have some remaining. Initial lacing looks wonderful. Body is a dark orange with hues of brown. Visibility is low, but I can see a giant amount of bubbles coming up. Looks very good so far.

At first the nose is predominantly tropical, but after a second some noticeable citrus comes through, with a small dankness. It settles out to be a little too citrusy for me, but it’s still very nice. Overall this is still my kind of nose because while there are oats in here, it doesn’t seem like they were going for a hazy IPA, and that is evident in the clean, hop-only nose.

Flavor is very clean, but has a good backbone of flavor. A small amount of citrus, touch of dankness, and a moderate, but vocal malt flavor. Tropical notes linger in the background for the entirety of the palate. This is not the biggest flavor, but all the flavors are here. What you don’t get in flavor, it makes up for in a crisp, clean palate. This is a very nice balance between a juicy IPA, and a clean one – definitely up my alley.

Carbonation is medium - low. The body has a nice weight to it, considering how light it drinks. A touch of sweetness, but pretty light and clean overall. Bitterness is on the lower end. Overall a very nice mouthfeel. Malt and sugars are low, but make an appearance to add a little character. Remains crisp and easy drinking.

The appearance turned out amazing. A sliver of head hung around all the way down the glass. The lacing was fantastic. Great looking beer.

Overall this is what I love to see, a juicy IPA that is not over the top into hazy territory.

12oz can from a sixer purchased at Bottles, in Millwood, WA, for $11.49. According to the stamp on the bottom, this was canned on June 1, 2017, which makes it from the first canning run that Georgetown put out there, I believe.

Poured into a Washington Brewer's Association mug, this was a shade of amber that was slightly darker than honey. A good sized, eggshell-white head stuck around for some time. Lots of lace.

Citrusy and tropical fruit-reminiscent hop aromas lead the aroma charge of this beer. Grapefruit and orange zest is present, but there are also aromas of pineapple and even mango.

The taste is much as advertised. The hop onslaught is fruity in both bitter and sweet ways, with the sweet having the upper hand but never sufficiently tearing loose to cloyingly dominate. Like it's more old-school stablemate, Lucille, it's not as dry at the finish as some IPAs I've had, though there is still a dryness present. Unlike Lucille, the more easygoing fruit flavors are present at that finish instead of a more bitter pineyness.

Medium bodied, with a somewhat resiny mouthfeel, though not as pronounced as some IPAs.

This will appeal to aficionados of newer, more fruit forward and less piney IPAs. Much as I love those old school PNW IPAs, I love drinking this as well and could probably drink more of this per session. It's price point will probably be the only reason this might not become a staple in my fridge, but I will definitely splurge on it from time to time.

Hazy gold with three fingers of cream color head. Rings of lace appear as the head drops.
Smell is fruity floral hops.
Taste is fruity floral resinous somewhat dank green hops. Right amount of malt support for the style.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is dry and medium bitter.
Overall a nice hazy IPA. Canned on date 4-10-2020. Less than 30 days old.

Tap poured.
Slightly darker than golden, not crystal clear, but close.
Slightly sweet aroma with a very melon characteristic that carries through to the flavor. Good malt to back it up, but melon is the predominant flavor.
Delicious... :-)

Can from ABV.

A clear orange with a dense, off-white head that falls off to a ring rapidly, this looks solid. The nose is a big dose of OJ with rose water, a touch of tutti fruiti and a little honey. Faint rooh afza notes as well. The palate opens quite fruity and particularly floral with rose, a little jasmine, some citrus, honey and a little candied pineapple. Malt character is minimal - no dough, no malt sweetness. Medium light in body with a finish that has lingering fruit and floral notes, this beer is solid.
