On tap. Poured a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of sweet caramel, floral notes and citrus. It tasted sweet with a light caramel maltiness and subtle citrus bite.

Yellow gold with a two finger somewhat frothy white head.
Slightly spicy smoky Belgianesque aroma and flavor. Did not see that coming!
Moderate carbonation. A bit more than lightly bodied. Almost a crisp, clean, lager like finish.
Quite an interesting take on this style.

leave it to mikkeller to get me excited about a blonde ale. not just any blonde here, sort of a cross between a belgian single or pale, and a more traditional cream ale, it has elements of both. frothy in the glass, it already has more life than most of these put together, sticky white head on the edges of the glass, and just a little haze to an otherwise clean looking yellow beer. the nose shows some mild belgian yeast, i swear it does, not funky or anything, but perhaps a little spicy, i dont know how classically belgian it is, but its yeast aroma and flavor in a blonde ale, and thats usually not part of the equation. the flavor shows some blandish sort of pale or pils malt, a little bready but clean, not super fresh, but it doesnt need to be with the yeast. maybe its been cold conditioned, it has that crisp finish to it, that sort of coldness that doesnt have much to do with serving temperature, maybe layed down for awhile like some cream ales are. tough saying the process ever with mikkeller, but this casts that impression. its refreshing and clean in the finish, not at all flavored by the yeast anymore. a little more body than a lot of these have helps it be interesting too. for all the overly ambitious mikkeller stuff out there, its nice to see the execution on a more simple beer like this one. still unique, just not as polarizing as some. everyone should enjoy a pour of this one...
