Had on tap. Mostly hazy golden body with a fluffy white head and lacing. Plenty of tropical fruit and lemon zest in the nose, mellow and soft hops. Taste is much the same, more citrus up front and pith within the dryness of the finish. Well balanced, hazy but not juicy, pillowy soft and clean for style. A good median standard for the style

Pours like pineapple juice as expected for the style. Light head. Aroma is sweet malt and ripe fruit - plums and cut grass. Taste is light citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Not a huge deep fruity taste fro the style. Very nice, not great.

Hazy orange, off white head-some decent lacing. Orange and tropical fruit. Something herbal in the background. This is good but not great. I would have again but wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

I'm just not feelin' it. Good beer....but average for the style I feel. At first, I thought I had an older "skunkier" can, but the Brew date on the can is less than 30 days ago. Good, but not great or outstanding.

Sweet juicy orange citrus hoppy nose! Nice aromatics...the taste follows, but it's a bit thin on the finish. Because of that, it takes away a bit in enjoying the swallow.

L: Very hazy orange color, two finger white head, messy lacing, no visible carbonation. Doesn't look like a NEIPA.

S: Tropical fruits, citrus notes, hops.

T: Hoppy, extremely balanced. Not a NEIPA.

F: Medium bodied, some hop flavors.

O: Nice IPA but lacking the flavor of a DIPA. Also, definitely not a NEIPA.

Don't look at me like that. I'm serious. This NE IPA is literally perfect.

L: The can art is hilarious. One guy lost his boiler hat, and the other looks like his mullet is being blown back, although it seems firmly attached to his head. Seems like the statement is that this puppy will blow your hair back. Damn straight.

The body pours a hazy yellow with a slight orange tint, like chamomile with way too much lemon juice in it. No visible sediment though; it's just really hazy. Three fingers of bone white head rose up from pouring most of the pint can into a standard pint glass, leaving wide bands of fluffy lacing with some volume to it (2mm thick in places).

S: The brew explodes with clear notes of fresh tart pineapple, jasmine, sweet white peach, mango, chamomile, tangerine, apricot and honeycrisp apple. It's notably boozy too, but I personally think it adds to the overall appeal. I don't get any real grain or malt notes. If anything, a hint of white bread.

T: A fat, juicy white peach and a ripe mango each make a big splash into a pool of vodka; tangerine and pineapple watching from the sidelines as jasmine swims circles around it. Sweet, tart apple reluctantly dives in, but that jasmine makes it look like a toddler in the deep end. Apricot and chamomile elect to simply dangle their feet in and stare at the sky.

F: I almost can't believe I used to rate West Coast IPAs so highly in mouthfeel. Nothing beats this balance of smoothness and crispness. Dangerously drinkable.

O: I suppose it doesn't hurt that this was canned two weeks ago, but I have to say, this may be the tastiest IPA I have ever sipped on. Cheers!

Truly delicious! Powerful hop aromas spill out with a pronounced pineapple and mango hit mixed in with the typical citrus scents.

Flavorful on the tongue as well with a smorgasbord of hop flavors including the mango, melon and pineapple as well as grapefruit and orange and lemon zest. Low bitterness and little to no piney flavors for me.

Mouthfeel is also excellent with a dry finish to accompany that low bitterness and sweet backbone.

A great NEIPA and a standout in terms of its overall well balanced hop flavors with low bitterness.

From The Full Pint review:
“Overall, I think this beer is outstanding. It has a lot of finesse and nuance with no single character dominating. You get all the joy from a tropical hazy IPA while maintaining moderate dryness and firm background bitterness. This gives it better structure than other beers in this segment. There’s so much appeal here, I can see why it has gained popularity. I’d recommend this beer to anyone really, especially those new to the hazy IPA style.”

Pint can of Windy Hill sampled at dinner in Brooklyn. Initial impression is an modern hop blast when the pop top is opened. Not my style. A cloudy modern IPA, a style I'm not a big fan of. I actually poured a little of my wife's Porter into the IPA. That calmed the IPA down quite a bit.

Pours a hazy dirty orange juice color with a thick cream colored head that falls back to leave generous lacing. Aroma is full of orange juice and other citrus notes. Flavor follows with only the slightest of hop bite on the finish. Feel is soft and smooth. Overall basically just another hazy juicy IPA without anything special to help it stand out. At the price point a one and done for me.

Pours a nice looking hazy golden color with a fresh white head. Smell is tropical fruit with mango, papaya, citrus and pineapple. Taste had all tropical hops sweet and ripe with a dose of malts. Very soft moutfeel with very little bitterness. A very good NEIPA,very juicy with hops.

Very nice, refreshing, flavorful IPA. Nice orange-yellow hazy color with a little residual head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells great, piney and citrus hops. Tastes similarly, along with some floral hops, caramel and malt. Great aftertaste with just the right amount of bitterness. Smooth mild mouthfeel and great carbonation. Very nice, juicy IPA that’s both flavorful and sessionable but it’s just tough to justify the high price tag.

Pouring this beer you are met with a hazy, orange straw body with a well-defined white, lacy head. The foam subsides after three sips, forming an island in the glass' center. The 16 ounce can allows you to rejuvenate the head if needed, depending on the glassware.

Pine or citrus zest on the nose.
The taste is adequately representative of an NE IPA. Juicy, yes, but bitter on both the back and front end.

Overall: I'd seek out this beer again, and not just because I bought a four pack. It's great a la carte for a summer night and easily compliments a meal. As an NE IPA, it fits the bill. And yet, it offers more than just juice due to its easily discernable hop profile.

Hazy but bright golden color with a thick and long-lasting white head. The aroma was there but a bit restrained - some citrus but more berry fruit along with grass and pine needles. Pine up front on the palate, but balanced nicely with some lime-citrus and tropical notes. Even some juniper was in there. Moderately bitter. Dry, bready malt with a clean finish. Enjoyable.

A one pint can with no canned on or best before date. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Appearance: A hazy orange colour with a big three finger white head that had good retention and left some nice lacing.

Aroma: Grapefruit, citrus rind and peel, orange, mango and passion fruit.

Taste: Lightly bitter and sweet, orange peel and rind, grapefruit, melon, cantaloupe with hints of mango, grass and biscuit malt.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Quite nice and tasty, but I think I would prefer it even more if it was less sweet.

Poured from a tall-boy can into my Moonlight shaped pint glass.

Lightly hazy mango body supports a finger of lasting magnolia soft-peaks. Rocky lacing; excellent retention.

Citrus, passion-fruit, garlic chives, and a faintly catty aroma emerge from the glass.

Spicy, rich, and somewhat resinous palate entry suggesting herb-grilled peaches. Moderately bitter with the focus on hop flavor. At the core there is a sweet note like that of an orange/vanilla float. Grain bill seems diverse with hints of wheat or oats beyond the base malt. Finishes medium-dry and zesty.

Soft yet biting mouth-feel draws you back time and time again.

Falls a little short in the aroma I think, but this is a very satisfying NE-style IPA, and is a good showcase for whatever hops they used (Simcoe and Mosaic perhaps?).

Canned 5/10/18, consumed 5/31/18

Poured hazy, cloudy light brown/dirty hay With a nice thick head that left a good amount of lacing. There were a considerable amount of hop boogers at the bottom.

Aroma is mild overall, sharp citrus with lesser notes of tropical fruits. Light but pleasant.

Taste is stronger - zesty, juicy citrus again with some background tropical fruits.

Feel is medium, smooth but not creamy, no real trace of alcohol, easy bitterness.

Overall, solid hazy from Mikkeller SD. Not mind-blowing, but not a lot of noticeable deficiencies either.

From Mikkeller Brewing San Diego comes Windy HIll a 7% New England IPA.

This beer pours a hazy, straw color with a big, inviting, white fluffy head that retains an excellent lacing on the glass.

The smell is dominated by citrus and tropical fruit, with a hint of mango, pineapple and orange and a hint of sweet melon.

The taste was a bit sharp on the palette, up front with a hoppy bite that gives way to the usual fruity juiciness found in a NE style IPA. Hints of grass and a lingering hoppy aftertaste combined with a slightly bready backbone.

(mini review) On tap at Stag's Head in Manhattan.

Years of seeing Mikkeller beers languishing unrefrigerated on shelves, with like 30 different varieties that never move, I was hesitant to get this. It's draft though, so this is just bias/superstition...

It feels unfair to judge a Mikkeller "New England" IPA given all the Trillium and Tree House I've been drinking recently... but this is a *solid* new school IPA. Juicy, looks beautiful (like some kind of fantasy cantaloupe juice), nice fruity punch of hops. Mouthfeel isn't perfect, but everything works.

Almost as good as Industrial Arts Wrench. Better than lesser Grimm and Other Half. Better than every Barrier IPA I've had in the last year or two including Money. Not quite VT or best MA tier, but good enough to pay a premium for a fresh pack of cans and not feel bad about it. Would order on tap over most of what NYC has to offer.

Pour this into a nice pint glass and enjoy, the look is cloudy with a decent head, the body is somewhat heavy but not to filling. Hints of citrus, and a little lemon, backed by some grapefruit and a little malt.

FYI this description sucks by beer advocate. It is NOT an American IPA it is a New England style IPA. But I agree with most other reviews on the citrus notes but does have a tad bitter aftertaste from dry hops that's like a bitter grapefruit.
