Pours jet black, with some fine chocolate colored foam.
Smell is sweet, with coffee, vanilla and berries dominating.
Taste is interesting, a juxtaposition between the sweet stout full of coffee and vanilla, and the refreshing tartness of the blackberries. Very tasty.
Mouthfeel is medium to full, well carbonated.
Overall, a nice dessert stout, where the berries make it stand out.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear thick viscous jet black in color with light amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and extremely faint dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense foamy dark mocha colored head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of dark malts, chocolate malts, and lightly roasted malts with a moderate amount of chocolate + caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate aromas of slightly tart blackberries and a light to moderate amount of slightly peppery spice and earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of dark malts, chocolate malts, and lightly roasted malts with moderate amounts of chocolate + caramel sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate of slightly tart blackberries and a light to moderate amount of peppery spiciness. Light amounts of earthy hops impart a hint of bitterness but there is a light to moderate amount of lingering chocolate + caramel sweetness.
M: Just shy of full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of alcohol warming in the finish.
O: This is an interesting dessert beer - I like the combination of blackberries and a sweet stout but I'm not sure amount the spices (which I cannot exactly determine what they are). Drinks much easier than the 11% ABV as the alcohol is well hidden from the taste and smell with only a slight presence in the mouthfeel.

On tap at WhichCraft Brews in Penfield, NY.
This one pours a very dark black, with basically no head, and no lacing.
This smells really peculiar. Blackberry nyquil, indiscriminate spicing, simple syrup, Nesquik, and booze. Wut?
This is really surprisingly quite bad. The spices (whatever they are) and the blackberry clash horribly. It's cough syrupy- the blackberry tastes really artificial- no jammy notes that I was really craving. It's got a pretty bad astringency on the finish- boozy and medicinal. What happened here? This is two great brewers collaborating, and it's really perplexing how this turned out.
This is medium bodied, very syrupy, with just no drinkability to it, at all.
I'm honestly astonished at how little I liked this.

16 oz. can. Black body. Smells weird. Blueberry and spices. Some chocolate. Tastes equally zany. Blueberry is strong and tart. Some sips have more spice. Some sips have more blueberry. Nutty malts. A little chocolate. Spicy finish. Medium heavy. It's interesting, but the adjuncts are intense and, I think, detracting.
