Looks like a NE IPA. Smells like someone let the orange juice go bad (in a good way for a sour). Taste brings all the passion fruit juice flavor with lots of tang. A bit of lacto going on, but not overboard at all. Carb is solid. Overall I really like this beer. I wish they would lower their price point a bit, but so be it. I’ll be on the lookout for more of this one.

A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color—too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of passionfruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having stronger flavors of passionfruit and a light amount of sourness. No saltiness is perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This gose is packed with lots of aromas and flavors of passionfruit. The fruit provides a nice balance to the sourness.

Normal pour from a 16oz can into a HopNuts snifter produces an inch worth of fizzy bubbly head, fades after a few minutes but still see rapid carbonation flowing up

Body is hazy but still slightly lighter, not full murkiness, dark yellow orange like an apple cider

Aroma is llama funk w/ some slight grassy hay but slightly sour still, I guess I don’t personally care for the smell of passion fruit

Taste is tart and sour without being overbearing, it’s simple but solid, maybe it’s the sea salt.. Hell idk but either way Mikkeller nailed this one on the head

Feel is juicy and mouthwatering with more than average carbonation, perfect for the hot days

Overall I’ve killed like 5 or 6 packs of these and keep getting more while it’s around, just had one w/ chicken Alfredo pasta and it was the perfect pairing, keep ‘em coming boys

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/27/2018. Pours opaquely hazy medium orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin ring of lace that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy passion fruit, papaya, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, apricot, mango, melon, guava, berry, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, white bread, light honey/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, passion fruit, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge juicy/tart/tangy passion fruit, papaya, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, apricot, mango, melon, guava, berry, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, white bread, light honey/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang; and light yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy passion fruit, papaya, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, apricot, mango, melon, guava, berry, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, white bread, light honey/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, passion fruit, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness balance; and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from tart/sourness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy/tannic, fairly crisp, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited Gose! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, passion fruit, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Very flavorful for the ABV, and not overly lactic. Extremely juicy fruit, balanced lacto complexity, and solid pale/wheat malt balance against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. One of the better ones I have had.

I’m not typically a huge fan of the gose style but Mikkeller has been doing some fantastic beers so I thought I’d give this a shot. Great idea. Renewed my faith in this style of beer - not an everyday brew but great in small doses.

L: poured a 16 oz. can into a pint glass. Pours a beautiful almost neon yellow, cloudy but not on the level of a NEIPA. Half a finger of fairly dense foam that condenses quickly into moderate lacing.

S: there’s no getting around it - this beer lets you know right up front what it’s all about. Tons of passion fruit and guava right off the bat and some tart lemon-lime right behind that. Very pleasant on the nose.

T: wow. This one comes right at you with tons of fruit - definitely the most fruit-centric beer I’ve tried. If there’s a complaint here it’s that the fruit is so big that there is little to no room for complexity. However the sea salt with the sour lemon-lime undertone is really nice - different enough that it is noticeable without dominating at all.

F: typical for the style - very crisp and tangy. Carbonation is minimal, not much to get in the way of the fruit here.

O: Mikkeller continues to impress. This would be a great beer on a hot day or served with food (though I couldn’t be bothered to cook anything when I tried it). Overall a great specimen for the gose style, hopefully we continue to see more like this.

Canned 4/27/18
Look: Dark straw colored. Hazy/unfiltered appearance. 3 fingers worth of head with moderate lacing.
Smell: Passionfruit upfront, with a lemon citrus complex. Slight acidic sourness on the nose with some salinity.
Taste: Follows the nose. Full passionfruit and lemon flavor, with hints of tangerine, honey and grapefruit. The salt is a nice addition, and gives a nice finish. Mild acidity to the beer, which is also enjoyable. This beer is sour, but I am liking it.
Feel: Medium in body and weight, and moderate carbonation for the style. Beer has a nice full feel, but finishes crisp and refreshing.
Overall: I really think Mikkeller did a great job with this. It is full of sour passionfruit flavor, as I hoped. It is easy to drink, and perfect for a hot day like today. I am very grateful to try this beer. Cheers!
