Poured from 16oz can into 20oz imperial snifter. Canning date is in Julian dating, and I am too lazy to convert.

Look: Pours near black. Despite a vigorous pour, I was able to achieve minimal head formation. No lacing left on glass whatsoever.

Smell: Awesome smelling. I can pick up chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and guess what.. Maple! The maple is an awesome edition to the smell, which is something I was hoping for. The chocolate, coffee and maple blend together extremely well. No alcohol aroma at all.

Taste: Just as stellar as the smell. The taste I perceive goes as follows: Chocolate, then maple, then coffee. The chocolate and maple combine to give rise to a sweet tasting brew, while the bitterness from the coffee balances out the sweetness. I don't consider this necessarily "fudgy," but it tastes fantastic. I am relieved to finally have a "maple" stout where the maple is detectible. I really appreciate the coffee to balance out the sweetness. Damn, what a great tasting beer. Even as it sits here, 11.1abv is non-existent.

Feel: somewhat medium in body, though not as full as desired. However, the weight of the beer seems a little more on the heavy side which makes up for it. Carbonation is low borderline non-existent.

Overall: This is a beer that I will be looking to by more of. The booze is well masked, and is deceptively easy drinking. As stated before, having a maple stout where maple is actually prominent is a plus. I am really enjoying this beer. Not much else to say, other than try it if you're able to. As always, I am grateful to have tried, this is great. Cheers!
Forgot to add, this beer is great right out of the fridge, and also as it warms. Well done Mikkeller (SD), this is a fantastic stout.

We gettin’ lit here on Oscar night. And with Traeblod, why not? Pours a deep, dark black that even Joseph Conrad would be impressed with. Smell is of delicate maple syrup that Zeus himself would put on his pancakes. Taste is light coffee, with a huge dose of clean and bright maple syrup that I’m sure the Brawny man puts on his hot cakes. We got a good one here, my peeps.

As expected, Træblod pours black, smooth, and diabolical. A deep amber highlight flutters in the light and the thin, foamy, heavily tanned head barely maintains it's presence other than a paint brush stroke on the surface.

Sweet maple syrup is definitely noted off the bat, but not too intense. Buttermilk batter, a hint of banana, and roasted coffee play the supporting cast with a earthiness hiding deep in the background.

This is heavy on the syrup, that's for sure. Pancake batter again comes through with a small splash of coffee to swish around and wash it down. I'm getting this banana note once more, but in a bruleed fashion in the flavor rather than just a scent. I'd even say that this has a bit of a crushed walnut thing going on, but now I'm starting to think my head is playing tricks on me.

This is almost perfect on the feel if not just for a bit too sweet. But I guess having syrup as an ingredient, that's to be expected. Very rich, thick, and smooth. Oily smooth, on the lower viscosity side. I'm thinking 10w-30. Thank God there's that roasted coffee to balance it out, even if just a touch. Though it's warming, it sure hides that 11.1% and quite well.

Træblod is near the king of maple syrup stouts (Double Stack/Triple Stack), but it's more on par with CBS, maybe even a tad better. Some will hate this opinion of mine, but I'm sorry...if you haven't had Double Stack, you haven't had maple syrup in a beer. Cheers.

This one pours a super thick and gloopy looking dark black color, with a small barely there head, and no lacing.

This smells like pure maple syrupy, with super bitter roasty coffee, caramel, and chocolate.

This has a lot of sweetness, but the coffee and roasted malt provide a nice counterpoint to the absolute maple uppercut that this beer provides. I love maple syrup, so it really works for me. This is as good as some of the big hyped maple stouts out there- Mikkeller SD has been making some real clutch beers.

This super thick and syrupy, with a lower (but present ) level of carbonation. It's a definite slow sipper.

This is a very enjoyable and fairly decadent beer.

Oozes from the can. Pitch black, thick, sticky and viscous. The aroma of fresh brewed coffee, cocoa, vanilla, maple syrup and a hint of hop presence wafts from the glass. A smooth mixture of coffee, cream, chocolate, and maple syrup coats the palate. Hop taste is minimal and the texture is full with low carbonation. Oh, and the 11% ABV is nearly invisible. Almost perfectly balanced. Not too sweet. Not too bitter. Mikkeller San Diego is doing good things.

16 oz. can. Black with a big mocha head. Smells of maple syrup and roasted malts. Smells quite sweet, but doesn't taste that sweet. Maple syrup flavor throughout and it does have some sweetness, but heavy coffee roasted malts balance it well. Maple drops off and bitter roast lingers. Heavy, but not sluggish. Tastes of alcohol, but again doesn't get too boozy. Very flavorful and approachable for its size.
