On a recent family vacation, we passed through Lexington. We decided to try this place for lunch. Located off the main road, in a modern rebuilt-building, it was easy to find. On a Thursday afternoon it was absolutely dead at lunchtime. The service was therefore prompt and attentive. The food was exceptional...I had a burger that was one of the best I've had in years. The fries were incredible, and all food was well-prepared. The beer was a selection of local brews, mostly on tap, and the server was knowledgeable. Great selection, good food...worth a visit.

Love the location, but parking not do much. Wait was reasonable considering it is burger week on Friday. Beer selection is crazy. Love the food and atmosphere.

HopCat is a chain out of Michigan, which is reflected in their beer selection. For a while, this was the only place in town to get Shorts, Jolly Pumpkin, Odd Side, and Saugatuck beers. The regular rotation of Founders and Bells doesn't suck either. Their beer menu is easy to follow, but can be overwhelming for a newcomer. The staff is super-knowledgeable as beer is a key part of their training.

Their food menu seems to be more about the artwork than the food and can also be hard to follow. Whatever you do...GET THE CRACK FRIES!!! The rest of the food doesn't compare to the fries, except possibly the grilled cheese with apple slices. The restaurant opens up on the inside and has a really nice vibe. I definitely recommend for craft beer lovers that aren't in the mood for pizza.

If staying in downtown Lexington and you do not want to drive to the "real breweries" this is a fantastic alternative. 100 beers on tap, including a local 20, which allows you to try beers from our five Lexington breweries. With so many options, you are sure to find a palette pleaser. Hopcat does not brew on site. The crack-fries are much ballyhooed and worth the hype!

Very spacious & comfortable seating, parking is a nightmare.
Fresh beer!
Staff is fantastic!
100 beers on draft says it all!
I could eat the Muffin Top (black bean veggie burger)
everyday! Burgers are half price during happy hour.
3 people with me all had different burgers & said they'd be back!

Great location downtown -- The Square, with combined restaurants, has over 150 taps in the building, though parking can be awful.

The place is new, and the service reflects it. Sometimes you get good service, sometimes you get awful service. However, the management is very receptive to constructive criticisms.

There's 100 taps, plus available bottles, and the food is better than standard bar fare. Some beer prices are reasonable, some aren't, but if you ask, you can get a limited number of tasters for a reduced fee.

If you want a huge amount of beer, this is your place. The food is good, especially the fries. They break the beer menu down pretty well. The space is nice, but parking is awful. Close enough to Rupp to grab a beer before or after a game.
