I visit New South a couple of times a year and I gotta say, these guys make some damn good beer. Lily is a dark bodied howitzer especially if you drink enough of them. Alcohol hides well but you'll feel it at the finish. Dark and roasty but not real heavy. This beer doesn't travel far so unless your from SC., stock up and take it home

A- this beer pours a deep black and appears brown around the edges when held up to the light. The head is a chocolate brown which loses retention fast and leaves very little lading behind.
S- lots of chocolate comes across on the nose but that's when it ends unfortunately.
T- nice toasty notes come across up front and end with a nice semi sweet chocolate.
M- medium bodied which is nice. Seem like it could be a little thinker but that doesn't take away from the beer. Does coat the mouth nicely.
O- very enjoyable beer. Does drink like its 10% but not a boozy 10%.

I'm very proud of this local high gravity beer. It's so well rounded and tasty.

Look - as most Imperial stouts look to me it's beautiful and black as night with a frothy khaki 1 finger-width thick head.

Smell - Instant roasty sweetness, light hoppiness towards the finish.

Taste - Where to start...rich, roasty, sweet flavors complimented by an assertive hop presence.

If you get the hopportunity to try this brew and your a fan of stouts do yourself a favor and buy it immediately.
