Found in a Moscow grocery store, this clear tall and thin half liter bottle sportsa multi-colored label with the brewery's coat of arms above the name, which means "emerald." Ingredients include lime juice. Best before 10/14/06.
Green beer, eh? And it's not St. Patty's day. Pours a clear watery green hue under a short-lived white head which has no body and disappears completely almost immediately. The nose comes out very strong of adjunct malt. Once the head settles, the smell is primarily lime. The mouth is well-carbonated and slightly syrupy - not particularly pleasant. The taste has a definite lime twang to it, which sweetens the underlying moldy socks taste of the malt. The hops don't bother to emerge at all. The malt and lime mingle roughly evenly through the finish and into the aftertaste. This beer would be worse without the lime to lighten it up, but it still is far from what I would call good.
