Quite an ale! Dark caramel color upon pouring; lovely head of white foam at the top. Sweet initial taste with the hoppy bite at the end. Definitely will search this out again. A very enjoyable double pale ale.

Dark amber color and cloudy. Initial two-finger head settles quickly but retains an eighth of inch of bubbles. Streaky lace.

Rich, sweet caramel aroma with a very light bittering hop touch.

Clean and malty initially. Notes of white-bread toast, lightly carmelized sugar and a bit of alcohol warmth. The hop is definitely low, particularly for the style. In fact, the aftertaste is predominately malt based. Rich body with a decent carbonation level. This is so close to being a superior beer, but it was under-hopped making it a clear miss.

Pours a uniquely attractive mottled light colored head. The brew itself is a delicious hazy amber color. I found a slight floral aroma with a hint of citrus. Malty to the taste and pleasantly light on the hops. I would certainly enjoy drinking this brew again.

Pours hazy, copper in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is caramel, toffee, cracker, cherry, and herbal hops that show in the finish. Sweet with a dry bitter finish, medium-heavy bodied, with moderate carbonation. Amazing malt bomb. Sweet but not cloyingly so. Best beer from RJ Rockers that I have had so far. Really glad I got multiples of this one.

Double Pale Ale, from the tap at the brewery....Rusty/copper color. Smells of caramel and malt. Taste starts sweet and finishes with a slightly hoppy bitterness.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a cloudy copper color with a small off-white head. The aroma is full of malt and some caramel. The taste matches the aroma with the addition of some fruit flavorings.

Pours murky medium amber producing a huge, to the point of being difficult to pour, long lasting, beige, shaving cream foamy head that leaves a coating of webby, chunky lace. Aroma is roasted/toasted malts, caramel/toffee, fruity cherry & apple, faint roasted nuts & cocoa. Hops floral & a little pine. Taste is malt forward but hop presence exaggerated for the style. Sweet & somewhat bitter with sweet leading the dance. Roast, bready malts, apple cider/candy apple, brown sugar & a pine hop bite that expressed throughout the menagerie with little dominance. Aftertaste is bitter, lightly sweet and very mildly astringent. Mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation, creamy, lightly chewy with a slight liveliness on the tongue.

A: 1 cm lingering head poured from bottle to pint glass. Reddish brown in color and hazy.
S: Sweet citrusy hops smell.
T: Sweet up front with the hops coming in on the swallow. The bitterness is there but slightly off balanced by the sweetness. Hints of yeast.
M: Nicely carbonated with a thick smooth body.
O: All in all not a bad beer. Good choice for someone who enjoys hops but likes things on the sweeter side.
