Funky interior is surprising, considering the spare, industrial complex exterior. Good selection of competent or better beers. No growler fills – only 32 oz. Howlers.

Tucked back in a corner of a commercial/industrial park in Romeoville, there's a small sign hanging near the roofline of one of the buildings, upon which a chimp-looking primate flashes the horns. This is Metal Monkey. Across the parking lot from the front door, they've got a roped-off area providing something akin to patio seating, complete with some umbrella'ed tables and the like. Inside the door, there is a variety of seating and tables (long, tall, circular, etc); the brewing area lies beyond the keg-containing cooler; and through a large passageway lies a concert space, complete with stage, sound equipment, additional tables, and an extra set of bathrooms. The walls are adorned with artwork and paraphernalia regarding various metal artists from Iron Maiden to Savatage to Frank Zappa. A small cooler stands near the bathrooms' hallway containing cans for take-home enjoyment. At the bar, somewhere around twenty taps dispense a pretty strong variety of brews, from a few goses and berliners to a pils and a tripel to a few stouts and barleywines, some of which had barrel-aged analogs. These beers range from rather good to solid, none of them close to poor (always a good sign). The bartender was friendly and seemed willing to discuss the beers if the opportunity arose. Overall, a rather nice place, one that comes complete with a rockin' soundtrack. A kinda wish they were easier to find, but I get how shoddy real estate can be sometimes. Gonna haveta go back again as soon as convenient.

They always have a real legit stout and ipa on tap it seems...we really enjoy them...a likely bet for higher % and pretty full flavor :)) Accessing view on website of what is currently on tap tho is THE worst!

A great place tucked away in an industrial area. They have various food trucks which is good because we tend to indulge a lot here so having food is a good thing. Beer and staff are great.

Walking in right away the name fits, as classic heavy metal fills the air. The house rules placard always gets social media pop, the No Bon Jovi rule makes me chuckle. Dark aesthetic in a warehouse space. Service every time we visited was humble and kind. Selection is standard, more stouts on the board which I enjoy. Beer quality is around standard, nothing really flies off the board or is undrinkable. They put on some fun events during stout season

Metal, for sure. Warehouse setting.
Room for plenty. You'll find a large bar upon entry with about 15 stools with four high top tables in front of that. Behind the bar and cooler is room for another 20 or so. Staff is willing to help and will answer or get answers to your questions. 6 or 7 beers on tap with several of the expected styles. I enjoyed the American stout, the imperial stout, as well as the triple IPA. All were very well crafted.
No food, but trucks visit on a regular schedule.
I look forward to more from the Monkey.

Nice new place, I went before the crowds came. I was able to talk to two of the owners, who spent time answering any question that came to mind. Hard rock and metal music was playing, much i knew. place was clean. I will visit many times as the folks were nice and they will expand their beer selection. They had some creative selection of ales already. UPDATE:
they knocked out a wall to their extension and made a more roomy taproom. Beers are consistently good.

New brewery with an awesome metal vibe. Opening day was a blast. Nice sized interior allows for a good crowd with quite a bit of available seating. Beer selection is minimal (they're brand new so it's expected) but very tasty.
