Your first experience with this IPA is the citrus bouquet from its rocky white head. The initial taste is subdued but gradually becomes intense without any harsh bitterness. The Heartier the Better.

DATE: August 20, 2023... OCCASION: back from Joey's soccer kickoff classic and easing into the last week before the school year begins--with a beer I picked up in Baltimore while Will was at Johns Hopkins... GLASSWARE: Citrabellum pokal... it's a glistening, vibrant golden-yellow body bubbling with life, building a three-fingered white clump of head that sits staunchly... deep-woods pine, heavy lemon, grass, watermelon and apricot mix with light bread malts and toasted oats to create an aromatic, field, fresh with flowers, woods and life... frothy at the teeth, medium-bodied through the mouth, and smooth at the throat, this moves at a dangerous pace, something like a Poe short story... at 7.3% ABV, this one also sneaks up on you--could it be more appropriately named? a lemon-splashed, pine-ridden IPA that balances better than expected, with a mellow pine cone and bread malts coupling well enough...

Really solid IPA. The main flavors I taste are apricot and citrus. I can taste hints of spice, chocolate, apple, and wheat. Definitely worth trying.

Golden in color. Fairly clear in appearance. I would describe this as a malty, English style ipa. Citrus, honeycomb and pine. Toasted pilsner malt. Fairly bitter, dry finish. Lighter bodied. Eh.
