A beautifully aromatic and balanced milk stout with delicious notes of peanut butter, coffee, and dark chocolate. This dark, mythical beer nods to the long-passed legends of our region’s seafarers. (Does not contain nuts or peanuts)

Once again, this was a beer that I traded for ages ago and finally got around to here in mid-2019. Never had anything from Mast Landing before but given how enjoyable this was, I'd easily seek out what else they have to offer!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was chocolate-hued with a frothy, tan head and only a few scattered sections of lacing seen below it. Lovely aroma full of peanut butter, chocolate, roasted malt, and fresh-brewed coffee. Much of the latter was in the taste as the peanut butter gave this plenty of nuts and lactose to enhance what was already present. Milk, sweet chocolate, candy, and toffee emerged in the taste as this was as big a dessert beer as I've had in quite some time! A bit chalky, the mouthfeel was that of chocolate with some nutty additives thrown into the mix. The mouthfeel was full of espresso as it was roasted, slick, and thin - which was pretty much true for this beer overall!
Not a lot of booze to this, which was keeping in line with the stylistic feel of an English Sweet / Milk Stout. I'm not sure how this was ranked so low, given how easy it was to like this! The peanut butter feel and taste could have been toned down a bit but otherwise, there wasn't anything to dislike about this. A nice first impression from Mast Landing, with this one!

I sampled the imperial version of this offering a few days ago. I probably should have tried this one first, but I was never one for proper protocol.
I actually think that there is more peanut butter essence in this nose than in the imperial version. However, that fabulous graham cookie note is lacking. The flavor has peanut butter notes as well, but nothing here is assertive enough for my liking.

Gifted a can. Unremarkable other than peanut butter produced off taste.

Smells like coco puffs or coco rice crispies or something. Taste basically follows but opens up into incredibly overt hazelnut notes, and maybe also a mix of peanut butter and coffee. Close to 0 bitterness. It's not what I'm looking for in beer, although that's not really its fault, and if you want a really rich sweet roasty beer bordering on saccharine you'll probably like it a lot.
