Pours black with a nice, lingering tan colored head. Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate, and peanuts. The taste is peanut butter (real, not the artificial kind), coffee roast, and bittersweet chocolates. There's enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. This beer has the most "real" peanut butter taste I've had in a beer. Just unreal. Feel is smooth and fairly heavy for the lower ABV. Overall, I could drink this all the time, as it rides the balance between dessert stout, sessionable stout, and heavy stout so well.

Canned 8/03/18 "Happy birthday Tom Brady" yay!

Pours a huge foamy bubbly 1 finger off-white head that fades at a med pace with big bubble lacing, super dark basically black beer

nose brings loads of peanut butter, tons of raw peanuts, some dark chocolate and milk chocolate, a sweet mocha and malty aroma with a little milky lactose, toasted biscuity cookie wafer with some candy bar notes, def like a peanut butter twix, a mild roast and coffee in the background

Taste brings a lot more of the same, basically a peanut butter twix again, tons of peanuts, creamy plenty of lactose and oats, little milk chocolate and hints of dark chocolate on the back end, more cookie wafer biscuity notes with nutty toffee mixed in and a touch of caramel, mild coffee, a little mocha and coffee fudge, touch of bitterness late, finishes mild sweet creamy more milk lactose and tons more peanut butter

Mouth is med bod, very creamy rich, decent carb

Overall quite nice, loads of everything they promise and balanced well with base milk stout, which is not my fav style but works well here.

I was up in Portland for the day, going to as many breweries as I could fit into one day. So I start off at Allagash, which opens an hour before all the other breweries. I make my way across the street to a building housing 3 breweries- Austin Street, Battery Steele, and Foundation. So I'm drinking beers at Foundation and sitting with some locals when one of them says how there's this AMAZING stout from a brewery I'd never hear of, called Mast Landing and that his buddy had to check it out. I overheard this, asked about the brewery and went there after I had finished up at Foundation and the other two breweries in the building.

He wasn't kidding, Gunner's Daughter was AMAZING. Notes of coffee, coco and huge flavour and aroma of peanut butter. It drank a tad thin but that's my only critizim. I drank my sample and bought a 4 pack of cans.

To my suprise, it was better in a can than on tap- go figure, right? I returned to Mast Landing for their one year anniversary party and bought a case of the stuff. Its that good! I'd love to see an imperial version. This beer is the shit!

I was not expecting to like this beer and was reluctant to try it. It is actually pretty fantastic. It's not artificial tasting at all and the peanut butter flavor is just enough to play nicely off the roasted malts. It smells like coffee, chocolate and peanut butter. My only complaint was that it was a hair thin, but hey it is 5 % and it's probably not fair to expect much more body at that abv.

Gunner's Daughter has become a new favorite of mine. I first tried it while on a trip to Maine, and am saddened that I cannot get it in Arizona.

Look: Dark brown/Black, with a thick beige head

Smell: The smell is mild, chocolaty and lightly nutty

Taste: This beer is almost sweet with initial tones of dark chocolate and a nutty finnish, almost like peanut butter. The overall flavor is very smooth with little bitterness, and the flavors even carry over to the thick foamy head.

Feel: The carbonation is light, making this a very creamy beer. A prime example of a milk stout done well. The head is this and creamy as well and lingers for some time.

Overall: I just hope that Mast Landing will some day expand to the point where I can get their beers here in Arizona. This is one of my favorite beers of all time.

Overall a pretty good peanut butter stout. Natural flavors and not over done. The smell is amazing, but the taste doesn't quite stand up. PM dawn is my standard here so tough competition.

A tasty dessert imperial stout with very strong peanut butter aroma and taste. If you are a beer enthusiasts or just someone who loves peanut butter, then give this stout a try.

Canned on 8/3/18

Pour is about as deep a shade of brown as possible without being black, and capped with a finger and a half of beige foam; good head retention and minimal lacing.

Aroma bursts with nutty roastiness and toasted malt with a subtle lactic twist; peanut butter eventually makes its way in, as does some sweet oak and earthy vanilla tones.

Taste is consistent with the aroma and softens nicely; plenty of roasty peanuts encompassing a blend of coffee beans and dark cacao powder, adding the very tempered bitterness; also in the fold are vanilla beans and expanding notes of creamy peanut butter.

Mouthfeel carries a medium-low carbonation and dryness that feels right with the lighter aspects of the beer, and actually holds the body and flavor up quite nicely; a surprisingly clean finish, but not without plenty of smooth aftertaste making its way through in spots.

This is certainly a uniquely done milk stout; for only 5.5% ABV, tons of flavor carries through here, with the roasty peanut and background sweetness giving this one a really interesting flair. A easy-drinking milk stout, and not overwhelming considering all the flavor; a nicely done, quality brew, but the fleeting eccentricities (the sweetness can become oddly cloying at times) of the profile would make this difficult to reach for daily, at least for my palate.

A delicious dessert to be enjoyed throughout the meal or all by itself. Surprisingly sweet but not overly. Full of peanut butter and chocolate. It’s an adult milkshake. I keep coming back again and again.

Pour: Nice dark color with two finger tan head

Smell: Some hits of PB, chocolate, suggestion of sweetness

Taste: Chocolate, roast, coffee, and a vaguely candy like peanutbutter flavor. A good balanced flavor overall, complex, not too sweet, enjoyable sip after sip after sip.

Mouthfeel: Incredibly smooth, not too thick nor too watery, with a nice lingering aftertaste/finish of pb and sweetness.

Overall: One of the better if not up in the best Milk Stouts I've had. At only 5.5% it's impressively complex and won't get you f*cked up.

Fresh from tap at the brewery.

Looks like black coffee, with the slightest hint of tan overtones. Decent head, fades quickly. Good lacing.

Smell — for a peanut butter and coffee fanatic, anyway — is incredible, like peanut butter kissed with espresso.

Taste is heavily carbonated at first, and didn’t win me over, initially. This may have to do with the fact that the beer was served very cold, for a stout. Next time, I’d try it warmer.

The carbonation then fades as the stout, coffee, and peanut butter flavors take over. Long finish, marked by the return of carbonation sensation focused on the tip of the tongue.

Loved the smell, wasn’t bowled over by the taste (entry), but the mid-palate and finish brought it back around. Nicely done.
