One of the better SG beers I’ve had in a while. Lovely look with a massive light-mocha head. Aromas are off the charts and exactly as advertised: maple syrup, vanilla, chocolate cake, coconut, and espresso. It’s in your face and sweet as hell, but the combo is really strong. Flavors follow and the beer isn’t overwhelmingly sweet, but the maple and coconut are definitely leading the way. This one is definitely a sweet/milk stout, as the lactose is evident and the beer is quite thin for a stout.

Deep dark brown/black with a creamy head. Maple, coffee, vanilla ice cream on the nose. Maple, vanilla, coffee and coconut on the tongue. Thick and creamy mouth. A really nice sweet desssert stout that I’d be glad to have again.

A 16 oz can poured into a snifter. A murky medium brown color out of the can and dark brown in the glass. A normal pour produced a smallish tan head that settled fairly quickly, leaving nice laces on the glass. The aroma was surprisingly big, with fresh coconut, vanilla, maple, and milk chocolate. Coconut was the dominant note, but the maple was clearly there as well. As you might expect, this was sweet, but the flavors worked well together. The chocolate was up front which kept the adjuncts from making this cloying. Both the toasted coconut and the maple added to the beer but didn't overwhelm things. There was a pleasant coconut note with sweet, sticky lactose on the finish. Full-bodied and medium carbed. Overall, a tasty milk stout that highlighted each flavor well.
