Notes: This is our IPA featuring a substantial crisp bitterness kept in check by a solid malty sweetness. With an intense citrus bouquet and flavor, Swift is a bright and clean IPA.

12oz can, date stamped 06/27/18. Hazy tangerine colored ale with a tall & rocky ivory colored head that holds excellent retention. Aroma is unique: grassy, floraln amd citric hops with pale and pilsener malt. Unique flavors as well with notes of biscuity and slightly nutty malt, lemongrass, earthy pine, melon, grapefruit, white pepper, and some spicy hops. Medium-full body, quite acidic, finishes bitter with lemon, grapefruit, and earthy pine lingering on the palate. Enjoyable because it's so unique, but not really anything I'd get again.

I tried this at the brewery. It poured a slightly hazy orangish with white head that left a nice lace. The scent had a citrus. The taste was nicely balanced an easy to drink. The mouthfeel with lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid offering.

Had first time at the brewery's tasting room. Biggest asset was the freshness.
The citrus aromas get pushed out in the bitter Taste. Otherwise sits ok in my mouth.

Had again, this time without the interference of a flight and the after-taste was only half-bad. Slight improvement in rating.

Had a third time and still not satisfying. Three strikes on this one is enough.

But I do like Hopewell and visited them a few months after their cool , austere taproom opened. I probably had all 8 of their beers that I Had on that one occasion. So I went on their website to see how they progressed. Their story is common. College friends become home brewers and are thoughtful in the shop they open.
They seem to have stayed with their knitting adapting the British tradition.
But I will return sometimes soon to see how they have matured.

On tap at the brewery. Look is light orange and clear. Smell is light fruit, watermelon. Some bready notes. Taste is a nice sharp bitter punch, the melon comes is again and lingers. Feel is high carb, almost tingly. Also semi dry. Overall a solid offering

Draft at the brewery.
Darker orange with good clarity, thin layer of foam, spotty lace.
Light citrus in the aroma, grapefruit present but faint.
Taste is lightly bitter with a slightly drying hop presence and light grapefruit notes.
Light bodied with a dry aftertaste. Pretty good, certainly drinkable.
