Served in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Wait, this cap is black (save for the yellow Hinterland logo, of course)... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear brass topped by a finger of white, sudsy foam. The nose comprises orange rind, a twist of lemon, and mild funky wheat. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a strong vein of lemon peel up front and plenty of funky citrus, a flavor akin to fungus-laden grapefruit and lemon peels. Suffice it to say, odd and unappealing. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, this is just a mess of a beer, with flavors that not only don't add up to something I would call a "white IPA", but also don't add up to anything I would call a good or tasty beer.

12 oz bottled poured into a pint glass.
A-A heady beast with large bubbled white sticky foam atop a clear traditionally colored light golden with a green tint.
S-equal parts fruity yeasty esters and orange/lemon citrus aroma hops. Smells like a white IPA for sure.
T-leans more IPA than Belgian wit than say the original Deschutes Chain breaker. Lots of lemony and rind hoppy flavor layered in with weak Fruity Belgian yeast esters.
M-thin bodied with fairly high carbonation with a fairly high bitter finish. Quite dry.
O-a decent white IPA. A bit heavy on the west coast IPA hops. Resiny and lingering that is overpowering.

poured 12oz bottle into Duvel tulip

A - Light golden yellow with a 1.5 finger bright "white cap" head. Thin ring remains for the session and spots of lacing dot the glass.

S - Dim citrus, grapefruit, and pine hops. Only a little Belgian yeast and minimal malt.

T - Light, bitter grapefruit and minimal citrus hoppiness. Belgian yeast is very subdued and the malt presence is lacking. Some piney bitter and grapefruit on the finish.

M - Light bodied, made to be an easy drinker. Carbonation is also light. Some minor bitterness lingers.

D - Light sessionable beer, like CW Hop Rise and Founders All Day. Not much Belgian yeast or malt to be found in this, which is intended. Not something I will get again.
