12 oz bottled poured into a pint glass.
A-A heady beast with large bubbled white sticky foam atop a clear traditionally colored light golden with a green tint.
S-equal parts fruity yeasty esters and orange/lemon citrus aroma hops. Smells like a white IPA for sure.
T-leans more IPA than Belgian wit than say the original Deschutes Chain breaker. Lots of lemony and rind hoppy flavor layered in with weak Fruity Belgian yeast esters.
M-thin bodied with fairly high carbonation with a fairly high bitter finish. Quite dry.
O-a decent white IPA. A bit heavy on the west coast IPA hops. Resiny and lingering that is overpowering.

Purchased from a local grocery store, no idea on the freshness as there is not a bottling date/best by. Dear Lord, breweries, put dates on your bottles/cans! Anyways, I let the beer sit for 15 minutes for a more ideal temperature.

Look: The beer pours a nice tangerine color, with a thick white head and is slightly opaque.

Smell: I initially got lemon, pine, and then that Belgian bubble gum yeast. Beautiful

Taste: The initial burst, which is very short lived, is that hop forward citrus and pine, and then melds into the yeast taking over.

Feel: The beer runs slightly dry with bitterness occurring throughout the beer.

Overall: This is a good attempt at a style that seems tough to do. I can appreciate the beer, but may not seek it out as often as some others.

I lived in Kenya for three years and this was my beer of choice. Tusker is definitely the most popular beer but White Cap is a better beer. Pilsner is another good beer but White Cap was my favorite.

16 oz can, w/o freshness/canning date indication

Poured into a tulip. Its hazed lighter honey, under a large and lasting lite tan cap. Goes to a thicker froth and leaves gobs of lacing on the glass.

Grapefruit and honey nose.

Pleasant enough quaffer, emits some notes of grapefruit and lite wheaty malts. Sort of thin body wise in the midsection , but finishes with a grapefruit infused flourish. Nothing special, but just a pretty drinkable lighter bodied IPA/Wit/Belgian IPA kinda thang. Nothing amazing nor anything awful going on here.

A - Light yellow-gold color, definite hazy cast to the body, with a clean white head, tight, but persistent. Pretty extensive lacing.

S - Front is a bit funky. Pine notes and pineapple underpin the front, and a mild honey note, as well.

T - Pine and fruit is forward, with a slightly medicinal quality coming in the middle, and a honey drop note coupling with a bitter line in the close. The medicinal aspect fades some as the beer warms.

M - Crunchy hop bite, with moderate carbonation that does not keep the bitterness from building.

O - Seems a bit off balance, for me. There are solid aspects - pineapple and pine in the nose and open - and some less positive elements, such as the medicinal element. Together it is a mixed bag. Decent, and surprisingly punchy for its low ABV, but not one I'll be rushing to grab among the IPA options.

Serving: Bottle into pint
Served: 27 December 2014

Appearance: Pours a bright, crystal clear yellow with a substantial head. Leaves minimal lacing, but lacing nonetheless. Carbonation streaming up from the bottom of the glass.

Smell: First it smelled really funky- skunky or almost weed-like. After letting the beer decant for a while, the smell really improved, but still had an edgy quality to it. The bouquet became dominated by bright citrus and pine notes with a touch of weed.

Taste: Light malt base makes for minimal additional sweetness with a huge hop punch on the palate. The flavor hops are essentially the same as in the nose- citrus and pine- but lacking the astringency. The finish is medium-dry.

Mouthfeel: Rather light body, but the high carbonation makes up for it. Exceedingly quaffable.

Overall: Definitely not a "Belgian IPA" at all- no yeast notes, no suspended yeast, and too hoppy, but not a bad light IPA. At 4.2% this is essentially a hopped-up light beer, and one I could pound all day. Comes in cans too, which they were selling at Lambeau Field- this would be a great football game/tailgate beer. Underrated.

12/21...Hazy but clearing gold. High fluffy white foam, drifts, active bubbles ascending. Citrus pine nose. Soapy. Bitter open, quick fade, sharp citrus peel behind. Persistent bitter. Crazy foam - WTF?
