Really nice! Very much a drinking beer. Not an FU pastry stout. You get both the rum and bourbon barrel with some dark dried fruit, vanilla, coconut and cocoa. All very natural flavors that allow the toasty, slightly bitter and dry stout to shine. Quite excellent.

Let's go!

Super thick dark pour, inky and like used motor oil, with a thick beige head of 1 finger, receding gradually to a fingernail and leaving slight broken lace up the sides. Nice alcohol legs too.

Aroma is bourbon barrel first, then coconut, vanilla, toasted slivered almonds, fudge, hot caramel, and more coconut.

Flavor is explosive, and full of cinnamon, hot fudge, toasted coconut, vanilla, rye, almond joy, toasted caramel, slight pecan, toasted bread, bourbon, honey, and slightly more coconut. Slight metallic element which knocks it down a quarter point but nothing that is too intrusive.

Feel is thick, sticky, viscous, hot. Very very good. Slight resins, really sticks to the cheeks and tongue. Wonderful.

Overall, a knock out beer that is worth the price tag. Regular Casual Friday is good stuff, but this takes it into the stratosphere. Would buy again if it were available.

White Elm Barrel Aged Casual Friday Imperial Stout, 13% ABV. Pours black and thick with a two-finger brown head that left no lacing. Nose is bourbon and chocolate. Taste is bourbon, chocolate, a bit sweet and almost no bitterness. Excellent thick smooth mouthfeel, overall outstanding.
