yesterday was an amazing day. what was supposed to be an evening of suds and difara pizza w the crew starting at 630p magically turned into a let's meet early afternoon at tørst. I had no plans to head over to interboro and this release wasn't even on my radar. I had been hearing some buzz about the brewery and tried a very tasty can not too long ago, but when the crew decided to hit the release I ended up joining in. I was really surprised to see a fairly substantial line when we got there 40 mins before the can sale started. the line continued to grow until the doors opened and beyond. the brewery seemed ill prepared for the crowd and was painstakingly filling orders one at a time with what seemed like lots of confusion. I got a pour of the beer while I waited on the line and was pretty underwhelmed finding it tasted like a heavy session or a watered down ipa...and the nose was kind of like bad breath (must've been the glass cause the can today is a different experience...more on that later). being the ever uncontrollable beer geek I decided to snag 2 4 packs of stay gold and a 4 pack of each of the other cans they had. no real reviews but instagram and other social media commentary seemed to say that this beer is more than just a gimic...so was eager to pop this can. as for the beer...very impressive. nose and flavor are heavy rich in hop dankness...dripping in it in fact. this is not a juice bomb, but it is a dank hop bomb. really flavorful. kicking myself for only getting 2 4 packs...and not sure what was up with the poor I got while online...maybe I was poured the wrong beer? this is a winner and deserves the accolades it has been getting, surprising to get all this punch in a 6% abv can. happy to have stumbled onto this release....oh and if you get a chance, make difaras a priority. cheers.

Another tall can, something printed on the bottom, but I cant make any sense of it

NE IPA look, fully clouded, delicate and fine strands of lacing left behind, after the moderate off white cap fades away.

Grapefruit, melon, mango on the sniff

Brightly flavorful and citric on the palate with again loads of grapefruit, soft mango, lime, melon, ample malt underlying it all. Simply delicious and nicely crafted. Yet another super tasty brew of this style, that now seem to be more and more available and that is a good thing, a real good thing.

Murky peach color with off-white head. Aroma is quite yeasty but also hoppy with overripe citrus fruits. Taste is quite juicy and hoppy at first but the hops kick in with a grapefruit pith bitterness on the finish. Medium to light body and carbonation. A bit rough on the finish with a light burn but otherwise really tasty.

Brewed with Golden Promise and Vienna with Malted Oats. Fermented with American Ale yeast. Hopped with Citra and Mosaic, and double dry-hopped with Mosaic hop dust.

Bright and clean-tasting, gold-bodied and hazed, with a couple of fingers of off-white head that slimmed to a flimsy cap. Aromas of citrus fruits, muted with some dank action... Flavors followed suit, accompanied by some candied notes of pineapple. Bitterness was moderate, had some pixie dust sweetness on the finish; medium-light feel with moderate carbonation and a bit of tingle. A very drinkable brew with lots of pleasing flavors and aromas. Solid.

Torst, NYC.

A- Hazy golden pour into the stemmed glass from the tap. Frothy cap makes it to one finger high with good retention. Big island and medium belt to spotty lace.

S- Bubble gum, melon, citrus pine, peach, grapefruit hybrid mango papaya madness. Massive pungent hops dominate the aroma. Oniony. Tangerines. Juicy fruit hops.

T- Oniony dank melons and bubble gum. Juicy orange, Clementine, tangerine, peach, a bit of passion fruit and plenty of dank herbs. Lime zest. All hops with literally basal cereal pale grains.

MF- Feels a bit light. Medium carbonation. Slight frothy texture. Watery on tap.

Really pungent and juicy bubble gum, melon, mango tropical hop juice.
