Hophead delight, smell is great, taste is good. There is a red ale underneath the hopiness, color is a cloudy brown-red. I order this often when visiting, but it is also available through some local retailers for $2.99 a bomber. This is a brew for hopheads but not just for them, it is worth finding the brewery!

This beer was a cloudy medium amber, tan head retained well, lacing ringed the glass. Sharp hoppy aroma and taste is due to three kinds of hops being used. It was not overpowering by any means but reminds one of a IPA / Red ale. Full bodied and creamy, nice and drinkable, good beer I do say. This brewery should be heard from in the future.

Poured on tap at the brewery into a pint glass. The beer is a deep, dark copper-red with a thin ring of head. The nose is a blend of caramel and malt. On first drink, the malt red flavors are present, and that is quickly followed by a burst of hops. The beer is extremely smooth despite the levels of hops, and has a nice hoppiness to the aftertaste, as well. Very drinkable and enjoyable beer. It shows why this brew is their best-seller.

Not a big fan of red ales, but spotted this in a 1 pint, 6 oz. bomber at a liquor store in Bakersfield on a recent trip, and the "triple hopped" caught my attention. Brought it home to KC in my luggage.

Poured in a Duvel tulip glass. Not a large head, but laces well. Aroma is somewhat floral, with a little toasty, nutty smell. Flavor is as expected - a typical red ale with lots of hops. The style is new to me, and much appreciated. Very enjoyable. Would have it again, but doubt I'll see it around here.

Picked this up on the way back from LA to Oakland, and glad I did, it's the perfect stop after the Grapevine, I will be hitting these guys again. To the beer, poured a deep amber, little head, day old pour from a growler. Nose was malt dominated, with a hint of hops. Mouthfeel and taste; this was a little out of balance, dry hops in the front but finished slightly malty, but still dominated by the hops. Then again, maybe that was the direction with the triple hops and all. Overall good stuff, I will be stopping by again to pick up some more beer, cool pub to, even though it is Bakers-tucky.

Sample at the brewpub: Clear brownish-red color with a medium off-white head and thin spotty lacing. The aroma is equal parts hops and malt. Medium, creamy body with taste that belies what the aim is - a malty Amber with a hops kick. Even so the hops is not nearly as strong as suggested. The finish is sweet, with some lingering hops. This is apparently Lenghtwise’s flagship beer and it is pretty good, although some more hops would be welcome.

On tap at source. Wanted to try their best selling beer.

A - Pours a deep copper with 2 fingers of orange-white head. Dissiaptes slow and leaves really nice lacing.

S - Honey, toffee, and a slight bit of flowery hops.

T - Honey, toffee, chocolate, and light bittering hops.

M - Full-bodied, well-balanced, and slightly dry.

D - Not bad overall. For a "triple-hop" beer, this was severely lacking. Not like I couldn't say likewise about the Miller beer either.

Beautiful deep brick reddish amber body hosts a two finger tan fluff of a head that turns rocky as it fades and leaves cliffs of lace as it does. Nose is initially very mineral based with tones of wet stone, raw malt extract and hops that have a very fresh cut grassy feel. The minerals continue on with the first sip with a extremely rustic malt character. This is all while the hops add a piney feel for a complete forest like mouthfeel. Even a slight bit of sweetness would have really balanced out this beer. Definitely for those who like their red ales on the dryer side. Drinkability is good regardless.

On tap at Lengthwise Brewing

A: Pours deep reddish copper with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces well.

S: Toasty bready malt, earthy, and some fruity notes.

T: Grapefruit pith and pine, lemon, earthy and fruity notes, plumb and peach, toasty bready malt, and toffee sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Quite a different taste from the smell. Drinkable, but really nothing super special.

22oz bottle courtesy of solomon420. Nice red-orange color. Smells like a standard amber, ho-hum. Taste has a slight hop bitterness some malt, nothing too strong but it is very drinkable. Oddly despite the fact that the flavor and smell are so-so for the style the drinkabilityis good, this is probably a great keg beer.
