A carefully selected arrangement of late-addition hops produce a pure citrus punch. 0% fruit. Fresh, never frozen. Not from concentrate.

Really enjoyed this one.... Perfect example of a tropical or citrusy IPA .... Looks pretty, smells good, tastes really good ... Not what you would expect from a brewer in Maine, but who's complaining!?

Poured from can dated 8/23 on 2/24. Perfect NE IPA. For those who want hops but smoothed out on the pallet. Decent head but it quickly dissipates. It will be standard in the home as long as it’s available in my area.

While I'm not normally a big fan of these ultra-juicy beers, this one is very good at what it does. Taste goes through a wide spectrum of non-cloying fruit notes (mango, cantaloupe/melon, pear, and uh... orange, which makes sense, being called "Oh-J" and all) before dissolving into its bready bittersweet malt base. The only real flaw is the inherent problem with juicy NEIPAs (especially imperial), which is that the fruitiness never feels 100% harmonized with the bitterness the way the flavor profile of less fruity beers can be.

The relatively low carbonation contributes to the rich, borderline syrupy feel of the beer, which you may or may not like. I'd sooner pick up some DHF 90 minute IPAs at the store for their more "beerish" nature, but this is a nice change of pace when I'm in the mood for a fruit overload.

Purchased at Horrocks in Lansing Michigan. Poured from can into a tulip glass.
Nice two finger foamy white head. Retention and lacing, very good. Nice hoppy and citrusy flavor, but just a bit too tart .Good clean finish, no bad aftertaste. A bad aftertaste can wreck my opinion of a beer.
I will buy it again.

Look: It pours hazy orange with a white head. It has excellent head retention.

Smell: It has a strong orange and citrus aroma. There are some background tropical fruit notes.

Taste: It has strong citrus flavors with orange and some lime. There are light tropical fruit notes. There is a bit of pine that gives it a pleasant edge.

Feel: It has a medium body. It has a low bitter finish.

Overall, excellent beer. I find Hazy's to be oversweat or harsh with resin. This beer is very well balanced and easy to drink.

After moving from Florida and settling in here, Downeast, I went looking for a DIPA in the local Hannifords and found this offering from Lone Pine, sold in 4-packs of 16-ouncers. I have to say this was exactly what I had hoped to discover. Hazy, hoppy, fragrant, moderately bitter. Kind of a cross between a NEIPA and a West-coaster. Oh-J is just a beautiful all-round beer, and if you're not such a purist, go ahead and freeze a thumbprint mug for this one.

Of all the readily available local beers here in southern Maine this one is now my favorite go to. Citrus forward as soon as you pop the top. I’m not aware of any other local ‘OJ-style’ brews. This one is loud and proud.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a super hazy orange juice color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a decent level of retention fading rather fast to leave a persistent film on the brew and a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather strong of a bready aroma mixed with some smells of grapefruit and herb. Along with these smells comes notes of a light orange and tangerine as well as a bit of must and hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a somewhat malty bready taste mixed with flavors of orange and grapefruit and a little bit of tropical fruit (mango and papaya). At the same time there is a very light herbal hop taste mixed with some other flavors of a light apricot and pear. As the taste advances the hop gets lighter while the sweetness gets a bit more intense, leaving one with a moderately citrusy hopped and sweetened taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is moderate to thicker in body with a carbonation level that is higher. Overall the feel is OK, and makes a rather easy sipper.
Overall – A good double IPA with a large citrus present. Nothing too special, but good none the less.

Pours cloudy bright orange/yellow color with a beige head that left excellent lacing. Taste and aroma were both dominated by orange peel, tangerine and grapefruit, with a lot of bitter citrus hop notes that brought out lemon zest, red grapefruit and some spicy accents. Definitely an appropriately named beer.
