No canning date. Can to wine glass.
L: Pours a hazy pinkish red with a fluffy white head that dissipates rather quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. A couple of floaters visible.
S: Raspberries with strong herbal, minty notes. Fresh and fruity.
T: Raspberries, green apple, hints of mint and a minimal hoppiness. Fruity, sweet and slightly tart.
F: Juicy and creamy. Medium carbonation.
O: Fruit-forward Sour IPA with nicely balanced sweet and tart notes, as well as the typical creamy mouthfeel you find in most of HV‘s brews. The herbal hints add a certain complexity. Very good beer.

A 16 fl. oz. can with no clear canned on or best before date. Poured into a winebar glass.
Appearance: A hazy dark pinkish orange colour with a one finger pinkish head that had pretty good retention while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, jammy, raspberry, vanilla, raspberry yoghurt.
Taste: Much like the aroma, sweet and sour, jammy, raspberry, mixed berries, vanilla, yoghurt, and a touch herbal on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: This type of aroma and flavours of raspberry and vanilla, are just my thing. I was worried that it might be too sweet, but there was just enough sour to balance it out, and it drank really easy.

On tap at Hudson Valley Brewery in Beacon, NY.
This one pours a glowing pinkish-red color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like sour raspberry, strawberry grandma hard candy, vanilla, and lemon.
This is reallyquite nice. There's a jammy and juicy raspberry character, and an odd, but honestly welcome, almost artificial berry candy flavor that is really, really reminiscent of those wrapped strawberry candies in every candy dish at Grandma's house.
This is medium bodied, kind of creamy, and pretty drinkable.
This seems to be considered one of the better HVB sour IPAs, and I tend to agree with that.

I love Hudson Valley Sours. I hate beer except these sours. I especially love the profiles of this ultrasphere and syzygy. Syzygy is my favorite but ultrasphere is not far behind. Its taste and depth is delicious. I love this beer.

Drank from a 16 fl. oz. can purchased at Craft Beer Cellar, Belmont, MA
Served in a tulip
Impressive appearance. The beer poured a medium bodied, deep pink hue that reminded me of ruby red grapefruit juice. A small, frothy, light mauve crown topped the liquid and quickly dropped to a fine collar. Tiny dots of lacing stuck along the glass.
The nose was outstanding. Raspberry dominated. Super jammy and sweet. Fresh vanilla bean was also apparent. Bit of milk sugar too. A touch of bright lemon character was also detectable. Hint of dank, musty hoppiness.
The flavor profile was also fantastic and demonstrated more IPA characteristics. Raspberry again came through big time. Jammy and sweet yet also a touch medicinal. I thought I picked up some strawberry as well. Vanilla was also noticeable. Tart lemon notes appeared in the center and intensified as the beer moved along the palate. Bit of dank hoppiness in the finish.
Solid mouthfeel. Fluffy and medium bodied for the style. The liquid contained a moderate amount of carbonation that worked nicely in this beer.
Hudson Valley’s sour IPAs are always unique and usually very impressive, and this beer was no exception. The raspberry on the nose was amazing and came through really nicely in the flavor profile as well. While I love smoothie-style fruited sours, these beers bring things to another level of complexity.
