Poured from a 16 ounce can into a Teku glass.
5/3.75/4.5/3.75/4.75
A stunning and vibrant ruby-dark purple-pink. Thick, opaque, and beautiful. Light head.
Smells lactic and sour-sweet. The spoiled milk notes are not great, but the fruit is pleasant enough.
Oh man, that is so weird. There is a ton going out straight out of the gate. Super sour with a strange-but-compelling savory note (the tea? hops? some grain?) then a blast of berry fruit juice, like cassis meets pomegranate. As my tongue gets used to it, the tartness tones down a bit. Pretty wild fruit beer.
You can really feel the lactose, especially on the aftertaste. Almost sticky-sweet finish.
Overall an exceptional experience. Highly enjoyable if you like blackcurrant or sours in general. Not really my idea of an "DIPA" though...
