This is a huge factory of a place incorporating an operating brewery with a very pleasant bar/tasting room kinda area where you can enjoy a mess of their quality beers on tap or get cans/bottles to go.

Ample dedicated parking area, just a short and well landscaped walk away. Outdoor area with large communal tables again surrounded with nice landscaping. Indoors its a mix of a pleasant mid sized tasting room , liquor store and well stocked merchandise availability spot.

Well worth a visit, pleasant experience almost guaranteed...bonus is that there is a disc golf course literally across the street behind the place, although its is on the beat up side

What a great place physically in a beautiful location. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were meticulously done, and the grounds were really cool. The distance to downtown Richmond was perfect as well. Everyone there was happy and enjoying the summer day, and my only knocks on the place were that I thought they'd have a bigger selection to go, as far as bottles and cans, and the lack of food. I arrived after the food truck left so I was SOL, but besides that I enjoyed the place.

Stopped in on the way out of Richmond. Nice looking building right next to the train tracks. Outdoor seating. Cornhole, etc. Tap room wasn't as big as I was expecting. Fridge with some bottles. Not a huge draft selection.

Overall, nothing like the SD version, but nice

Vibe: laid back industrial scene intermixed with a lot of outdoor green space. I just seems "Stone".
Quality: fantastic beers of the highest quality.
Service: it might have just been the day I went but they were somewhat annoyingly slow to check me out in line and pour me a beer but this is probably just nitpicking.
Selection: A really fantastic selection. Basically they have all their year round releases available, plus their brews from their Berlin location, plus Arrogant Bastard ales - and some hard to find ones at that, as well as a ton of rare stone brews including some aged, as well as beers you'll only find on tap at the Stone Brewing locations. In addition to all the apparel and accessories you'll typically find at breweries.
Overall a really grew place to visit and find some rare beers.

Visited on a Friday evening, right after dinner. The place was moderately busy. More employees than customers in the tap room.

V - Bright and clean with music a bit too loud and not great acoustics. Maybe a bit to cool/hip for me. But I’m an old duck. Bottles, crowlers and growlers to go. Also Stone gear. Hard to find. 4.0

Q - At the brewery, how can the quality suffer. Proper glassware. And its Stone beer. 4.5

Ser - Fine service, but it depends on the staff person. There are some new folks who are still learning, hopefully it won't take long. 4.0

Sel - Excellent selection on tap. If you can't find a style you like on tap then there will be a bottle to take home. 4.25

Place seems huge. Very impressive building, lots of great beer on tap and bottles to go, only knock would be the feeling that the staff was disembodied from the overall purpose. They were like disinterested teens on summer job at an amusement park. Just saying.

Almost missed this building, saw the building itself but there were no signs, just got curious because a part of the building looked much nicer than any warehouse I'd seen. Parking is nice, there are two lots that will access the brewery and a short walk to the building. Some outside seating in a nice little area. Decent selection at the store, mostly t-shirts with a few glasses and some other random products. Arrogant Bastard memorabilia is tucked off to the side.
Two bars with about twenty beers on tap cover the range for everyone, and yes, Stone uses different glasses depending on what beer you order. No food on site, but I did see that Bottoms Up pizza delivered to the brewery which for any visitor to Richmond is well worth a try.

So the new Stone facility is a gorgeous mansion of stained concrete and smells just like a new, squeaky clean brewery should! I have yet to do the tour but I have been 3 times now to enjoy the drinks and I have to say that the parking is great, the location is unbeatable, the people are friendly, the merch selection is outstanding, the beers are plentiful and I can't wait to go back! Staff takes time with you and does a great job pouring growlers to go. Even though there's usually a crowd, it never feels too packed given the size of the taproom. Stone's RVA location is also next to the Cap to Cap bike trail, so you get a lot of bicyclists which is always fun.
No crowlers, and the non-glass growler options are $$$. Several of the traditional growlers have Stone & RVA markings which is great for out-of-town collectors like me. One very small thing that they do, which I love, is not putting a tip line on the receipts. Just tip cash if you received really great service.

I have visited this brewery twice on my trips to Richmond. I am very happy Stone put a brewery in Richmond so I can get their fresh beer. The brewery had good selections on tap as well as good beer to go.

Richmond site is a good start towards getting to an equivalent to the California location. No food right now but plenty of good beer. Two bars with taps of about 20 different of the lastest Stone beers. Servers were super helpful and knowledgeable about the beers. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon and there were a number of people there taking a tour and a few of us sampling beers. If you like railroads there is a bonus of being next to the CSX tracks so you can watch trains as you drink beer.

Went there for the first time in May 2016. I thought it had a restaurant, but that won't open for another year. Some food trucks in the parking lot would have been nice.

Big open tasting room, they had about 7 regulars on tap, plus about 20 of their seasonals - like Double Bastard, Xocoveza Milk Stout, 2012 Old Guardian, etc. I was shocked to see they had 3 & 4 year old beers on tap.

For a Saturday evening, it was pretty busy, and the pourers still had to wait for me to decide what I wanted. Very good service.

It's Stone - you can't go wrong!

I preface this by saying that I have great respect for Stone and what they do. I will revisit this rating a month or so from now when they are settled in.

Vibe - Everyone was annoyed by wait time (15-20 min) for a beer. The taproom itself is very cool, but the unhappy guests inside of it gave me bad vibes.

Quality - Beers were fresh and tasty. I look forward to when it is beer made in Richmond running through the lines.

Service - Slow, lethargic and clearly overwhelmed. There are two LARGE bars and instead of being able to fan out across the bar as you should, you had to wait in a single file line to get a beer (10-15 min) and then continue to wait in the same line to pay up or start a tab (another 5 min). If you had the patience to wait, you were smart to order multiple beers at once for yourself. Glass was running out and the same swamped bar staff had to stop pouring to go gather and wash glass. It wasnt even a full house! I saw numerous guests leave the line and leave in general without getting beer.

Selection - Pretty sizable, but multiple beers on the list were kicked and after waiting 20min in line with your mind set only to find out you had to choose another and be pushed, was disappointing and un welcoming.

There are tons of kinks to work out in that place. I had high expectations going in and was terribly let down. I get that its new, but its STONE for god sakes. get it together. I will try them out a few months down the line to see if anything is changed.

Of course this will change when the facility is fully up and running. Facility is massive, thanks to Rich for the tour, and state of the art. 24 beers will be pouring on 56 lines, love the atmosphere, and beer is always high quality. Looking forward to super fresh local enjoy by
