this appears to be a series of beers these guys do that changes from batch to batch, bringing two new hops into the mix each time. i cant find any info about mine, other than that it says 7.5% abv printed on the bottle, if that gives any clues. im not sure it totally matters though, as this might not be the best beer to showcase whatever hops are in here anyway. its amber colored, pretty malty tasting, full of sediment, not presenting itself as super fresh, and really not very interesting on the hop side even through all of that, easily the least impressive beer i have had from proper, and one that brings them back to earth in my mind a little bit. not the prettiest pour, lots of fish food in here, and the beer smells sweet and like it has a little oxidation going on. there is nothing in the hop profile here that excites me much, a little generic tropical and stone fruit, peach and pineapple if i force it, but its faded and the malt really flavors this beer as much as the hops seem to, which i cant imagine is the point in a beer called hop vs hop. not bad, just unexciting and unrefined, i wish they shared the hop info on here. it looks like something tried to get printed on the label below the abv, but i cant make it out. in any event, this was a let down after being so stoked on the other proper beers i have had so far. anyone with batch information fill me in!

[Original rating 2016-07-16] Bomber from the brewery store. Pours clear dark gold wirh a thick tan head that settles quickly. Aroma of citrus, caramel, grass, tobacco. Taste is caramel, citrus, bitter hops with a slightly boozy finish. Well balanced.
