A wonderfull beer for the price, and overall. Much more, and better flavor than most.

Would be a perfectly acceptable, cheap American beer if it wasn't offset by a pungent metallic quality that I guess is supposed to be the hops coming into play (kind of like how Pabst Blue Ribbon is offset by a sunky, almost ghastly aftertaste). Light offering might be better, but this one is disappointing even by the low-grade standards it sets.

Could definitely believe that back in the day this was a more premium offering, but this one has suffered the fate the same way Old Milwaukee, Pabst, and Rolling Rock have in that they suffer from mass-production and sub-premium/budget beer stigmas in the face of the more "premium" offerings.

Like many of these American lagers I wonder what Stroh's tasted like back in the day. Either everyone's tastes matured or the recipe changed. Tastes of grain, corn and cereal, with a slightly metallic hops bitterness. Colored that ugly straw yellow no-one wants to see in their glass.

They retired a race horse and brought in a plow mule.

Back in the 70s this was a good one, above average. Unfortunately it has fallen victim to the times being relegated to a stable of brands which are so much alike once poured they are indistinguishable. Light fizzy yellow, more adjunct forward than hop or malt, just not much there to speak of.

All that's left is a nostalgic label.

Feels like I should be playing "Do You Remember?" from E40 & Too $hort while I write this review. Dem feelz.

Yellow adjunct beer, a little more hearty of a yellow appearance than most adjunct lagers. Or is it an adjunct lager? Perhaps not. Anyways, looks like you'd expect for the most part. Aroma was mostly neutral. A little sweet, a little bitter. You're not going into this for lots of malt or hops, and they're downplayed appropriately for their demographic.

Easy drinking corporate beer. Is what it is. Kid Rock was right.
