My favorite cheap American lager of all time. Moved to Southern Illinois five years ago and had never heard of it. Look, its nothing special, just a super clean easy cheap beer that just happens to taste better to me than all the others. I'm gonna miss it when I move away.

I have been lurking on this site for years and never have rated a beer, so I figured my home town beer would be the most fitting beer to use to post my first review.

Look-Golden, this beer looks like Friday night family movie night watching my father slam them back because he worked all week in the strip mines and he deserved this golden easy drinking beer.

Smell- Nothing over powering, some cereal, a hint of sweetness even if this is one the most diabetic friendly beer out there.

Taste- This is an easy drinking beer that actually has flavor. It is certainly not an IBU 90 but it isn't the typical cheap tasteless water down adjunct beer either.

Overall- This is the beer of our fathers where I am from. It is available on tap in every bar, you can buy a 12 pack for $8 or less at every gas station so when I go home to the St Louis area this is always my go to beer.

Excellent lager. A lot of people will turn their nose up to a cheap beer but Stag really is great.

this is much better than a lot of its peers, i wish i was a little more prevalent out there. nothing wrong with it at all. a pretty appearance of bright golden, perfectly clear, and softly heady, with great carbonation, although dont waste your time pouring it, this one is best served right from the can, ice cold. no metallics in here at all, no copper penny thing, to tinge, no stale, no sweet, even if there are adjuncts in here, its pretty dry and clean compared to the field. just a shade stronger than is customary in the style, and really pretty easy drinking overall, refreshing, even a little malty in the center. for all the bad beers in this style, this is the least of a number of great evils i reckon. more body than most too, this isnt the least bit watered down tasting, and i appreciate that. not sure why the can says its from wisconsin if its being made in california, but i dont really care about the business behind this one. a long way from craft lager, but a nice middle ground between that and the worst of the worst out there. if its been awhile, i implore you to give it another chance...

This beer reminds me of that one guy who says you'll like something, even when you know it's complete shit. I've run into that guy. That guy told me that this was the best beer in the world. Sheepishly I took his advice and drank this. That first sip tasted like broken dreams. By the middle of the beer, regret had taken its place. By the end of the beer I saw my dreams collapse, lying shattered and broken; crying out to be held. Only nobody would hold them, so they died of loneliness. I feel bad for those dreams, because they will never come back. My god, I've driveled on too long. Overall, this beer wasn't that bad.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is big on grain and rice(?). The flavor is your basic AAL with grass, grain and some mild hops. Overall, a fair AAL.

Appearance - Where did I misplace that urine sample? Oh, that's just Stag. It's pale yellow like a bodily fluid.

Smell - Cereal grain are noted in liquid form.

Taste - At first, I am made to think of sparking water as there is nothing bold about this one. Cereal grains make an impression. There is a little grass that dries up quickly. It is neither bitter or sweet.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation brush the "taste" off of the tongue.

Overall - This is a pretty middle of the pack American Adjunct Lager. I have had better.

Can't add anything to prior reviews. For what it is, it's very good - not merely drinkable/tolerable but actually enjoyable. I moved from Illinois some years back and always grab a few cases on my way back east. Because that never lasts long, I welcome any recommendations from those who enjoy Stag of of nationwide beers that are comparable.
