Pours amber with a decent head retention and better lacing.
Aroma is spicy, pepper, pine nuts, citrus and also pick up some sweet maltiness.
Taste leads with hop bitterness, piny nuts. Smooth but strong spicy dry hops are strongest but some maltiness is present.
Good drinkability, great with Bar B Q ribs.

Enjoyed.

One of the first IPAs I have tried, and was lucky enough to get it fresh from the tap in Vienna, Austria. Hazy orange, white head. Huge grapefruit aroma, with pine hops, as well. Bitter and refreshing, delicious with pine, citrus and honey notes.

Had at the 1516 brewing company location in Vienna. By far the hoppiest beer I've had in Europe so far. It's definitely really close to the actual HopDevil IPA from Victory. Ours tasted like it might have a been bit old, maybe 2-3 months, so the hoppiness wasn't as "in your face" as a fresh one and the body was a bit much. Still a delightful beer and a great treat to have overseas.

Glassware: Chalice

*not drinking it as I write and no notes, so I am going on memory.*

Appearance: Hazy amber with a khaki-colored head that was fairly thick and hung around for awhile.

Smell: All hoppish (new word?) aromas. Floral, citrusy, piney, a little spicy... Refreshing and clean smell.

Taste: The smell leads you in... It is strong on the hop flavor. Though, there is plenty of depth to the taste. Lots of bitterness and earthiness and some citrus notes. Big flavor and stays interesting.

Mouthfeel: light to medium-bodied.

Overall: I have had this brew a few times and it has impressed me each time. I really enjoy it and will purchase in the future...often. Best (or my favorite) of the Victory brews except for maybe the Wild Devil.

A - Deep amber color with a 2 finger head of white foamy cream. Very good lacing.

S - Good amount of citrus with a touch of pine. There is a hint of some caramel. Complex aroma.

T - Upfront there is a lot of citrus grapefruit. Strong bitterness, and a low amount of sweetness, very alkaline.

M - Medium body with average carbonation. Smooth.

D - Good drinkability. Good hop flavors, and pretty well balanced. Very tasty beer.

A - Deep hazy amber-orange color with a good sized white, foamy, and creamy head. Good retention with a nice lacing left over.

S - Good amount of citrus and other golden fruit along with a touch of pine. This is matched almost equally with some caramel and bready malt smells. Very well balanced aroma.

T - Similar to the smell and very well balanced. Upfront there is a lot of citrus (both orange and grapefruit) along with some other golden fruit (some apple, apricot, melon, and slight peach). Then some caramel and bready malt flavors start to come out more. The flavors come together and give a sweet candied fruit taste. Toward the end, there is some pine taste that comes out. No real bitterness, and a good amount of sweetness, even though there is a good amount of the hop flavors.

M - Medium body with average carbonation. Smooth and coats the mouth and slightly drying.

D - Very good drinkability. A lot of hop flavors, and pretty well balanced (slightly more sweet/malt taste). Very tasty beer that I enjoyed drinking.

Notes: ABV = 7.0%. Very good IPA that is very tasty. Had it at the Känguruh Pub, and it was a very nice surprise in Wien.
