Delicious base coffee stout. Perfect mouthfeel for the ABV. Big time Hershey syrup and chocolate flavors with a slight coffee bitterness for balance. Really well done.

The menu lists this as a "Southern Pecan Coffee Stout (Collaboration with Highland Coffee Company)."

Excellent full-bodied taste at a low abv. Strong coffee and chocolate notes in the aroma. Smooth and lasting mouthfeel. Nice lacing in the glass. A definite winner.

With a concise, well executed and organized game plan the coffee stout of the Mile Wide team seem to have all of its ducks in a row. With the help of Highland roasters, their southern pecan coffee rolls into an American stout with a simple and stern taste that's anything but disheveled.

But Uncle Disheveled stout comes dark as night brown, a hair's shade of black. Its dense creme carries a robust scent of dark roast coffee, caramel, cream and roasted pecan with bold chocolates pulling the dark scents together. Lightly scorched sugars lie on the tongue with a rounded coffee, cocoa and nutty verbose taste.

As the luscious dark malts seep into the tastebuds, their earthy coffee, bittersweet chocolates, black walnut taste latches onto the middle palate tightly. Softened with hints of caramel and vanilla, a finesse set of complexities soften the char of grain and the roast of coffee. Bitter nuttiness continues a nutty but elegant sweetness as the ale trails into a robust and roasty closure.

Full in body but far from dense or cloying, the Americanesque dryness and assertive hopping rates offer a surprising sense of dryness and drinkability that allows the stout to become more effortless in finish; even at the risk of exposing the bitter and mild astringency of grain and roast.

At the brewery, into a snifter, looks fine/typical in the glass. Nose has some nice nutty notes, as well as good smooth coffee...pretty mild on the chocolate and other things one might hope for from a stout. Taste pretty much follows the nose, though I'm getting a little more earthiness and a little mild cinnamon or something sweetish/spicy like that. The mouthful is a little more thin and watery than would is ideal for me, but it is quite smooth, and for the low abv, this is a good stout.

Nice looking beer. Very dark brown nice head and retention. Great coffee punch with hints of cinnamon and pecan in the background. Has a nice mouthfeel, especially considering the 6.5% ABV. Love what they're doing in Louisville.

The smell and taste is full of coffee with a hint of chocolate coming through. Pours very dark with a creamy light brown head.
