Consumed 12/23/16

A: Medium gold with some tangerine highlights - mild chill haze - pours with a small-medium white head, fades to wisps, retains a small collar, leaves some streaks of lacing

S: Lovely hop aroma, with a balance of citrus and pine - tangerine slices - orange and grapefruit juice - passion fruit - touch of pine resin and pine needles - oats and some pale, soft malts

T: Citrus, with some tangerine and orange flesh, touches of grapefruit zest - floral citrus - bright pine needles and a hint of resin - some leafy hops - fleshy passion fruit, melon - very light bread - soft grains, pale malts, touches of oats

M: More medium than light, medium carbonation, smooth but a mostly crisp finish

O: Worth rewinding

Wow. This is one of the best session APAs I have had in a while. I really hope that this makes it out of the Demo Tape series and becomes a full-fledged beer.

Super light. As pale of an APA as I've seen. Nice grassy and citrus nose. A tad thin. Almost like a hoppy blonde. There's just not enough backbone to carry the hops without a hint of a bitter/alpha acid sort of finish. Fairly easy drinking though.

Golden orange and slightly cloudy, smell is strong pine and serious resin (wow... at least when smelling from the can). Taste is a little thin up front, slightly citrus and creamy/oaty. You can tell the hop flavor is from late additions, because it is so bright and present on the back end without adding much bitterness. What bitterness there is definitely has a pine character. Leaves a pleasant aftertaste, more floral and tropical at that point. Dry, moderate carbonation, lacks body. Easy drinking.

16 oz. can dated 11/07/16

Pours foggy hazy gold with a frothy white foam head. Smells like the freshest dankest pine tree I've ever smelled alongside some gooseberry grapes, pineapple, passionfruit, guava, fresh lime, lemon, orange, candied grapefruit, papaya, with resinous earthy herbal grass. Tastes like fresh dank bitter pine, some gooseberry grapes, pineapple, passionfruit, guava, lime, lemon, orange, candied grapefruit, papaya, oats, with resinous earthy herbal grass. Feels medium bodied, creamy with moderate low carbonation. Overall a real nice Simcoe hopped oat pale ale.

Vibrant yellow in color. Somewhat turbid. Lemon, lime and orange zest. Cracker malt. Super dry. Light bodied, but very flavorful. Super solid session apa. Delicious.

This is really the best low ABV beer I've ever had. Such flavor and body for only 4.3%. I have no idea how they pulled it off.

Look is blonde and hazy.

Smell is floral with some fruit.

I'm gonna borrow another reviewer's description for the flavor. I agree with the vanilla orange cream and creamy oats. A little grapefruit too. Kinda like a great melding of breakfast flavors!

Mouth feel is excellent. Silky smooth.

Final thoughts... this beer is a perfect low ABV beer. Wow. I could pound these all day long and know I could still stand upright. You guys rock!

Can thanks to rudzud, canned 11/07/16

Pours a fuzzy almost finger head that fades pretty quickly, no real lacing, super murky grapefruit pale color

Nose big grapefruit, lots of pith and little rind, juicy citrus, touch creamy malt, vanilla orange cream, interesting creamy oats, bit grassy and a touch dank.

Taste brings big simcoe, grapefruit pith, little rind, orange cream citrus, juicy generic citrus, little grassy pithy and dank, into mild creamy oats, not quite biscuity but similar like oats, malts are a bit thinner, vanilla orange creamscicle. Finish dry pretty bitter, big grapefruit pith lingering, little grassy and orange rind too

Mouth is a bit lighter bod but a bit creamy, decent carb

Overall not bad, a good simcoe showing, oats add an interesting unique perspective, although malts and body are a little thin.

Enjoyed at the brewery.

A - Poured into a standard pint glass a nice hazy straw light yellow hue with a nice one finger head that fades slowly to leave light lacing.

S - Aromas of light musky citrus, oranges, faint earthy herbal thing going on. Light creaminess on the nose. Rather subtle.

T - Taste is waaay more aggressive than the nose. Huge amounts of bitter orange peel with some light musty notes. The oats lends a creamy quantity that translates to an almost orange creamsicle flavour.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, the oats bring a bit of creaminess to it which interacts with the crisp carbonation.

O - Overall this was a rather solid apa. Excellent usage of simcoe and the oats were fun.
