No dating on the 12 ounce can.

It pours a hazy orange yellow with a finger of foam, and some nice lacing.

First thing I pick up in the smell is cloves, followed by coriander, a very earthy musty aroma, and some Brett.

The taste varies from the smell quite a bit. I get the cloves, I get some salt, definitely earthy musty, light Brett and light tartness. It IS wild after all. I reckon that the flavours meld pretty well.

Low end of medium bodied, pretty lively carbonation.

Bought in a mixed 6pack. I believe that would be my preference.

12 oz. can, no canning information. Somehow my first beer review from Whiner Beer Co., surprising, since I'm pretty sure i've had this beer and their Miaou before also.

Poured into a Piraat snifter.

A -Pours a pale hazy yellow body. Hazy but it has some clarity. About two fingers of tightly packed bubbles for a head, recedes to about a finger's worth. Leaves some big strands of lacing. Looks pretty appealing. (Second pour is much hazier, more sediment, with much less clarity).

S - Bright, citrusy, saison yeast. Smells mildly tart and funky, but the qualities from the citrus keep it based. Smells crisp, you can almost smell the carb. Notes of pink peppercorn exist. Floral, with some alcohol esters, and notes of freshly squeezed lemons and lemon zest.

T - Crisp, juicy, mildly tart, with a fruity lemony finish. Not a huge flavor profile on this one, it's pretty simple, but it's hitting the spot for me.

F - Feel is smooth, crisp, clean. Moderate tart / funk leads to a dry finish. This stuff is super drinkable for 6.4% abv, this entire time i was drinking it, I imagined it was closer to 5.0%.

A nice beer from Whiner Beer Co. I look forward to reviewing more beers from them, I should try to seek out a pack of Miaou next.

I tried this beer by accident in Nashville. It is by far the best beer I have ever tasted! I live in Maryland and cannot find it anywhere. I’ll have to get it shipped.

12oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of white wine, caramel, lemon and wheat. Nice tart lemon taste with sweet caramel and a subtle oak/vanilla flavor.

Admittedly my first new Saison in awhile.

Pours modestly hazed light gold with limited head but decent lacing.

Aromas are pretty solid. Pale wheat malt, spicy yeast, funk, floral, oak.

Sweet pale malt on the tip of the tongue accompanied by some clove. Midstream is yeast, white stone fruit, sour wheat, green apple, cherry. The finish is quite funky with more tartness, white pepper and a touch of warming alcohol. Pretty well balanced, although maybe a touch sweet-ish. Not positive on that.

Medium bodied. Outstanding carbonation. Not crisp, but it has a pleasantly brief drying finish.

Pretty darn good saison.

Taste: crisp, semi sour, apple cider, apple vinegar acids, bright, white grapes, clear finish. Fruity sour, cider, some breadiness to the nose. Gold color hue, clear at first, wild yeast mage for a super tall foamy white head. Medium body. 20 IBUs

Got a single 12 oz. can of this recently to try. Poured into one of my tulip glasses, this beer pours a somewhat cloudy/hazy pale, light golden color with some streams of little bubbles fairly rapidly and continuously rising to the beer's surface. Has a fluffy looking, white head that's well over an inch thick when first poured. Settles eventually to a thin white ring lining the inside of the glass and not much else. Barely any lacing.Aromas of some bready malts along with tart notes of lemon and orange along with a big of oaked wine must that's followed by a bit of earthy spice. Has a very similar flavor profile, with breaded malts that give way to the aforementioned tart and slightly sour notes of lemon, orange, and grapefruit citrus. Next comes some oaked, grape wine musty funk that is rounded out with a nice a bit earthy spice and just a tough of hops. A very nicely balanced flavor profile, and the sour funk here is a bit more abrasive than it has been in most if not all other saisons I've had. And it works great here. Has a crisp, also smooth and slightly creamy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate to heavy carbonation. Has a nice bready, tart and sour aftertaste that linger on my palate for awhile after each sip. A very good beer and take on this style here.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of toasted oak, pine, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light Cabernet barrel notes; with big strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of toasted oak, pine, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; light pine, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, bitterness; and Brett/Lactic tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy lemon, lime, orange, red grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, toasted oak, pine, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light Cabernet barrel flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitter/spicy/tart/tangy balance, with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spicy/tart/tangy and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.4%. Overall this is an outstanding wild saison. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops, fruity/funky/acidic/spicy yeast, pale/wheat malts, and light Cabernet barrel flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/spicy/tart/tangy/drying finish. Awesome balance of juicy/vibrant Centennial/Amarillo hops, and Brett/Lacto/Saison yeast complexity; with a great pale/wheat malt backbone. Solid Cabernet barrel presence for only 10% of the blend. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstadning spot on style example.

Poured from a can into a hefeweizen glass at 45 degrees,

Look: Pours a hazy, lemony yellow color
Smell: Spicy peppery yeast followed by Belgian yeast flavors- strong banana and clove. Some coriander and bready malts on the nose. A earthy, rubbery funk is present too.
Taste: A tart vinous fruity flavor of lemon, pear and grape. Finishes relatively sour on the tongue.
Feel: Medium bodied. Possibly undercarbonated, and rather flat. Leaves a strong sour astringency on the tongue like lemonade.

Compared side by side to Off Color's Apex Predator and the standard Saison Dupont, this one is fairly similar. It has similar fruit flavors of tart lemon, pear and vinous white grape. However it has a much stronger sour/tart fruit presence. Less funk. Less carbonation. Finishes rather sour on the tongue palate rather than dry.

Overall: A good take on a saison. Great dynamic aromas, however the flavor was lacking. Overpowering tart/sour fruit with underwhelming Belgian yeast bitterness/flavor and malt presence. Underwhelming carbonation. Based on other reviews of higher carbonation, maybe I got a bad batch from the can. Drinks like a peppery lemonade.

On the sour side on Saison, Le Tub is a funky, carbonated brew. Sour lemon and citrus is balanced with floral and stone fruit sweetness. Not my favorite Saison, but a fun experience from Whiner nevertheless.

Funky stuff! Sour, salty, and somewhat floral...

Pours an uninteresting pale amber, slightly cloudy, lots of carbonation but almost no head.

Smell is sea salt, malt, alcoholy sourness...a very good description of what's to come.

Taste is sour, salty, and yes, a little fruity floral like a farmhouse should be...it's like the illicit love child of a threescore between a gose, sour, and farmhouse ale.

Very crisp and drinkable. Will definitely have it again, just wish I had stumbled upon it in May and not September.

Hard to be objective since I’m not into the sour brews and this beer is down right pungent.
Had some nice characteristics, and I’d imagine that someone looking for a sour farm house - saison ale would enjoy this

I liked this a lot.. Sour punch finish preceded by an earthy saison base. I'm guessing the Cabernet barrel adds the sourness and it works here... I love the subdued tartness... Very tasty stuff..

Canned 6/17/16; drank 7/2/16 @ the Yarchives.

Cloudy yellow/orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big, noisy bright white head; frothy lace.

Banana, honeyed wheat, mild orange citrus & faint booze heat notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Apple cider, banana & honeyed wheat flavors up front; mild lemon notes on the finish.

Mild, with some depth; I'd prefer more boldness but this wasn't bad at all.

I tried this beer at my boss' house. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that did not leave any lace. The scent had floral tones with ripe fruit. The taste leaned sour with tart cherry presence. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was ok.

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy pale golden with a fluffy eggshell white head that falls leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. There's minor sediment. The aromas have some hints of funk along with some yeasts and malts. The flavors seem to follow the nose. It's starts off tart and sweet, but becomes more balanced the more you get into it. Hints of vinegar and white wine. Some lemon and citrus in the finish. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate to carbonation. It's smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid brew. It's unique for the style. It's refreshing and enjoyable stuff.
