Right smack in tourist town!

Narrow entry that goes along the bar and opens up into a seating area. Vibe is in between a sports bar and a pub, but not very noisy.

Selection and variety of beer is excellent, almost 40 taps and just over 40 cans and bottles. Most types of beer are represented, and a lot of top breweries, local and beyond. Had beers by Burial, Hudson Valley and Other Half, hard to complain! Service was friendly and quick, and my tattooed bartender seemed to know her way around the stuff on tap.

Overall, a very nice bar, great selection and service and the food looked good.

Good place to stop in if you find yourself in Times Square area. Been to the East location more than 10 times, but this was the first stop at West. The room has two levels separated by a few steps and the wooden bar sits on both. This is a large space with high ceilings and some brick. Some tables line the other side, and overall a bit more space to move here than at East location.

Roughly 40 beers on draft here and there are some unique and harder to find brews which will keep any BA interested. Service was good and they know their beers. This is a great stop if you are in the side of town.

stopped in for a few beers on a Saturday afternoon.

The entrance sort of shares the lobby with the adjacent Hotel. Walk back and the bar is against the back wall, with tables lining the area. High ceilings, modern decor. They've got a good taplist that is a wide mix of styles and breweries. Good info on the beer menu. Service was fine. Didn't eat any food.

Visited this location in NYC over the weekend and very proximal to Times Square.

Lots of space compared to the East location, high ceilings, lots of TV's. Got there late at night so not that busy and the bartender was more interested in the two girls sitting next to me than pouring a beer for another guy. Took about (5) minutes to get waited on which I wasn't thrilled about, but wasn't going to hit the door either because there were some really lusty, hard to find beers on tap that I haven't tried yet. The West location is better than the East because it isn't so cramped and it's close to alot of Midtown hotels. The East is better because for some reason I dig the vibe more but don't care for the cramped and crowded space.

Overall, I prefer the East location but I definitely would stop by the West location again next time I'm in NYC!

Another quality-beer bar opened in that formerly wasteland called the Garment District. This Rattle comes with a Holiday Inn on 8th Avenue but has a separate entrance on 39th street.

The atmosphere is mediocre- Irish pub meets sports bar and tourist hangout. Lots of TV’s with the soccer game. This could be an airport bar.

But of course, you’re here for the beer, and they have some good 40 taps, including stuff from the Bruery (White Oak, Hummulus Rye), Other Half, Cascade (Kriek), Amager-Jester King (Danish Metal), Grimm, Maine (Lunch), Knee Deep and many others.

The printed menus have detailed information on pricing, servings, tasting notes… good (albeit expensive) bottle menu too with some crazy bombers like Mexican Cake and Westbrook Bourbon Oud Bruin.

I wouldn't call it a destination, and the ambience is pretty stupid, but if you're in the neighborhood it is worth stopping to try some of the rare beers on draft.

Stopped by the new Rattle N Hum location early afternoon on a Friday to grab a few brews and watch the Euro soccer games. Plenty of TVs behind the bar and on the walls nearby. There are entrances on both 39th St and 8th Ave. The beer list was excellent. Three different offerings from Cascade Brewing, leftover from an even a few days prior I believe. I had a Cascade Apricot and a Bell's Double Cream Stout. Both were served in great condition. The staff was friendly but could have been a bit more attentive. Overall, it was a good start to the afternoon and I'd go back anytime.

This is a new entry to the West Side; in the case of RnH West, it is located in a Holiday Inn, a few blocks from the Port Authority. (There is an entrance on W. 39th, as well.) It is an attractive multi-leveled, brick walled venue with plenty of room - not as cramped as RnH East - for dining and drinking. The bar is nice and roomy. The service is excellent and the tap selection is up to the same standards as the original one. My special treat: Belhaven Stout on tap and as a regular selection. A wonderful place that all BAs should check out.
