Nearly 20 months in the making, we reserved this Double Barrel-Aged English Style Barleywine to help commemorate and celebrate our 6th trip around the sun!!

Aged 6 months in a freshly emptied 9-Year-Old Elijah Craig Bourbon Barrel then transferred directly into an 18-Year-Old Kentucky Bourbon Barrel that most recently held BLiS 100% Pure Maple Syrup where it rested for over a year. Expect complex waves of bourbon and oak accompanied by notes of maple syrup, caramel, toffee, and candied dates.

Pours deep caramel brown color with a thin tan head. The smell of the beer is woody maple, pine and toffee. The taste is sweet malt and honey, finished a little on the bitter side. The feel is silky smooth, subtle burn. Overall a hell of a beer!!

Many thanks to tacosandbeer for this bottle!

A - Dark brown pour with no lacing and no carbonation and lots of legs on the sides of the glass.

S - Bourbon, maple, and toasted toffee.

T - Bourbon, maple, toasted toffee, caramel, and a lingering alcohol presence.

M - Thick, viscous, borderline syrupy, and silky smooth.

O - This is a pretty fantastic find right here!
