Poured from a brown 12 ounce long neck bottle into a tulip. The pour produces a 2 inchwhite foamy head. The beer is a transparent pale amber with a little chill haze.
Leaving some little lace drapeing streaks and a colar of retention

Aromas of bubble gum, bananas clove and a touch of lemon. Just a little bit of cracked peppercorn spice in there too.

Its light and carbonated with a thin crisp feel. Semi-sweet upfront with more bubblegum and plenty of cloves, just a bit of fruits here. Some mild banana and somthing like pinneaple. Just a little bitterness through the finish and some grassy hops. This is a nice light beer, easily drinkable. Not my favorite style, but definatly true to the style.

poured a light orange color with medium puffy head. Smell is a mixture of light malts, spices, and a bit of lemon. Taste has a restrained cloviness combined with other spices and citrus notes. Ends with a bit of citrus. Good example of my favorite style of beer.

Hazy orange yellow, white head that pours strong, and settles nicely.
Smells like banana, yeast and a spice I can't place.
The banana expands to include pear and bubblegum in the taste, the yeast is there at first, but that slipped away after a few sips.
This is very refreshing, slightly above light body, fruity taste.
Last night I had it out of the bottle, and previously at the brewery (contracted out, so it's not on tap), it seemed more bubblegum flavored at the brewery. On a hot day, it's even better. I'll definiately seek this out once summer rolls back around.

It's kind of strange that I have never run across this beer before, but I was happy to try it on-tap at the Blind Tiger In New York.

A very hazy, cloudy yellow-gold body with a thick white head greets me upon service of this beer. Retention and lacing are both good.

The aroma has lemon, banana, some spice and a ton of wheat.

Wheat rules this one, as it should. Lots of wheat twang and light, sweet, bread notes. Next comes a mix of lemon and banana, with the banana being the most powerful. Underneath those flavors is a peppery coriander flavors.

Just big and creamy enough for me.

This is a solid American-made Hefeweizen from Brooklyn.

On tap at the brewery, December 09.

Really nicely cloudy pale yellow, just the right colour, although a little dull. Head is creamy and thick, a wonderful crown of white bubbles. Overall, a damn good looking hefe.

Very clear and traditional hefeweizen notes on the nose. Lots of clove noticeable. Smooth and fragrant, and very genuine. A really good nose.

Taste is also pretty true. Clove again noticeable, almost turning to charred wood in its spiciness. Clean and smooth with sweetness all the way through, leaving a pleasantly silky experience on the palate. Mouthfeel is generally creamy with just a light prickling of carbonation.

This is a very genuine hef. Lots of good true-to-style characters, with plenty of lovely fragrance. Australian brewers do a poor imitation of the style. At least here in Brooklyn, they do it right.
