Great cola color.
A light golden edge and good tan head.
Aromas of mocha are faint.
Subtle, fairly rich and dry.
Very nice, nothing exciting, like other Brooklyns.
Not as full or rich as RJ Rockers Brown Eyed Squirrel.
Decent, wont repeat.

This is my first review, please be gentile.
Dark brown color, not much aroma, faint toasty malt. Chocolate/Coffee notes. Mouthfeel is "unique" not "dry" but "drying." Hard to explain, obviously everyone is different (fingerprints) (DNA) Not a bad brew for what it is, if it's what your expecting. Brown Ale.
Not offensive, may buy again.

Love the NY roots of this Brown Ale that is spot on to the style. Brooklyn Brewery almost always does a fantastic job with their brews and their brown ale is no exception. Way to represent BB!

Traditional optics. Aroma isn't very noticeable beyond just amber & dark malt. Taste isn't adventurous or anything but I thought it was fine, just malt & nutty flavors but nothing off or offensive.

20 oz Stout glass.
Smelled of light malts, a little chocolate, and mild coffee. Tastes of malt, coffee, and chocolate are thin, and balanced. A little on the dry side.. with a nice level of bitterness.

My 1st couple of drinks had an odd aftertaste, but settled down after that. I found this beer to be a bit underwhelming.

"Best by November 2015"; drank 9/5/15 @ the Yarchives.

Brown/purple appearance.

A rough pour yielded a huge khaki head; frothy lace.

Coffee, caramel & pickle juice notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Caramel & pickle juice flavors, in equal measure. Tough to drink; I couldn't get through 12oz. I've had my last.

This ruddy brown ale smells of toasted malt and chocolate and tastes of dark chocolate, toffee, and malt. There is something missing in the backbone of this brew. It's a little off and a shows a little flat. A little too heavy on the chocolate in toffee in my opinion which drowns out the essence of the brew. Medium bodied. This beer finishes leaving me thirsty and I think thats because of the added flavors which compliment less and dominate this drink.
