On tap in Rochester- pours a slightly hazy golden color with a finger and a half creamy head. Good lacing.

Smells like a cheap ipa- a little generic hops, a little malt. Nothing striking.

Taste is similar to smell- no complexity, nothing striking. It has a little hint of "adjunct lager" taste... In other words not a desirable brew.

Mouthfeel is good- light bodied with medium carbonation.

There are better choices for cheaper ipas- look for them!

Poured into a 16oz Tulip Glass

Appearance - Very hazy Dark Orange in color that pours a 1 finger width head that leaves behind some decent lacing.

Smell - Mild Floral Hops mixed in with caramel, toffee, barley and malts. Malts in particular smell pretty good mixed in with everything else. Not really too citrusy, but rather more sweet smelling.

Taste - Floral Hops along with sweet caramel and malts. The overall flavor is fairly sweet, which is fairly typical of East Coast IPAs. Fairly simple flavor for an IPA, but it's still pretty good

Mouthfeel - Pretty thick in body which gives it a smooth sort of quality. Carbonation is fairly subdued compared to other IPAs making this a surprisingly easy IPA to drink.

Overall - The subdued hop profile and sweet caramel flavor makes this an easy to drink IPA to those who aren't used to the IPA flavor. Simple in flavor, but still pretty good!

A-Pours a very clear, orange color with two fingers of white head that dissipates very quickly.

S-Very fruity esters with with some mango, pineapple, and caramel notes.

T-Very bitter, aspirin-like hop notes with a slight caramel backing and bitter finish.

M-Slick, yet thin-bodied with quite a bit of carbonation.

D-Not very drinkable or approachable; I find the hop notes to really make this a hard to drink beer.

Really this beer is kind of like an almost-imperialised version of Boston Lager

Pours a dark clear marmalade colour with nice head.

Smell is floral hops, then a strong orange marmaladey impression from malt and hops. Also a yeasty character which makes the totality of the nose like marmalade on toast somewhat. Nice.

Taste is lots more orange marmalade. There's a punishing English hop bitterness. There's also some tea in the taste and nose coming through. It's a veritable English breakfast.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, quite a lot of carb.

Overall an enjoyable beer. Did not enjoy my first beer of the sixer. Now I'm down to my last and I'm really appreciating this beer. Be warned that despite the beer's style, the ABV is still decidedly American. After reading others' reviews, I can definitely also relate to the "vanilla" elements picked up. Recommended as a curveball from US IPAs which still holds its own.
