Appearance: Pours crystal clear, amber with a golden tinge; two fingers of foam retain well and leave the foundations for a wall of lace

Smell: Caramel and biscuit tones from the malts; the hop tones are rather restrained, though there is an earthy bitterness, a herbal element and a hint of pine

Taste: The hops jut forward, bringing orange marmalade, a touch of green herbs and a resinous pine character while the malts build, underneath; in the middle, the caramel and biscuit continue to develop, though the finish is surprisingly bitter and quite resinous

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: An interest twist on the style, bringing British and German malts as well as British and American hops; unfortunately, I can't honestly say that the continental merge creates any synergies that would warrant another look at this one
