Notes / Commercial Description:
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, the beer reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Probably some of the best head retention Ive ever seen in a beer. It nice dark brown with 3 fingers of white head that seem to last forever!!!! the aroma is ok,Brown sugar, malty, spiciness from the Belgium yeast. The taste is about the same. Very dry mouth feel. Overall this is an OK beer. It is nothing grand. I was expecting a lot more, but this just the beer equivalent to table wine. Nothing against the brewery. I have enjoyed there local 1 and Sarachi ace.But I don't think I would go out of way for this one again!

One 25 oz. bottle and you have nice warm buzz going. Great beer for the holidays or a cold winter's night.
Dark color, thick long-lasting head. Smells of fruit, malt and yeast with significant carbonation.

Pours a brown color with a hint of ruby red, a massive foam head quickly disapates and yields a sudsy lace.
Surprisingly the aroma was hard to detect at first and even slightly metallic. However, once it warms one gets tones of brown sugar, dark fruit, toasted bread and even some alcohol at the end.
Nice complex taste; dark fruit such as plum, raisin and fig. Brown sugar, candi sugar and perhaps molasses. Sweet overall but with a peppery and clove like feel. The body is medium to high but feels light and effervescent in the mouth. Yet, the finish feels a bit on the thin side.
I like this one overall even though some of the metallic qualities and thinness of the finish compare slightly unfavorably to authentic Belgian Strong Dark Ales. Nevertheless, a good example of the style.

Well this one overflowed immediately after popping the cork so that was interesting. Color is dark brown to black with moderate lacing. Smell is deep malts, dark fruits n toffee. Taste is enjoyable and smooth but for a Belgian strong ale with a 90 rating I expected it to be more flavorful and, well, stronger. Really disappointed with this one. Like Voldemart said, "I have to say I hoped for better."
