12 oz. Bottle
BB: APR 02 2019

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice cloudy yellow/orangy color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, hoppy, with some pretty nice grassy/wheaty notes, lemon, licorice. The taste is pretty nice, malty, yeasty, hoppy, with some really nice grassy/wheaty notes, nice lemon, with some licorice. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. Nice to see Brooklyn around here. Bring more!

750 ml cork and cage bottle split 2 ways (though had first on tap at the brewery a couple years back). Pours out a slightly hazy pale golden yellow - well carbonated but limited white head. Aroma is sweet - lemon, citrus, bubblegum - bit of peppery spice.
Taste follows - lemon, bubblegum, honey sweetness, peppery but finishing with a crisp slightly hoppy dryness. Deliciously refreshing.

Bottle pour with BB date of 12/1/18, tasted on 10/25/18.

Look: Golden orange with a soft, dull white head. Lots of yeast. Like, haze bomb levels of sediment/chunkiness. Not just a bit in the bottom like a hefe that you swirl in... but a lot. Head readily reappears.

Smell: Funky lemon rind, kind of like a cleaning ammonia. Grassy. Yeasty. Bready. Old library book/hall. Thinking more on it, it reminds me of gun cleaning solution, which makes sense because there's typically ammonia in there too...

Taste: Toasted bread. Phenolic funkiness from the yeast up front. Earthy. Soft grassiness. Bold. Nice balance of sweetness and bitterness.

Feel: Smooth carbonation but kind of energetic when it pops on the palate. Medium-heavy body that clings. Not a "crisp" refreshing, but easily drinkable.

Overall: Would get again if I was doing a build your own six pack and wasn't able to decide on anything else. Not bad by any means and would consider if I was in the mood for a saison.

Sparkling burnt gold with a thick, off-white bubbly blanket curving upward in a tall bubbly ridge.

Smell starts as bready, sparkling white wine with grassy hops that actually bring light notes of sake. Apple, pear and corn aromas are also present before caramel emerges as it warms.

Taste contains some Belgian spice but it's balanced and measured, and it needs to be, because all of the other flavors--toffee, golden raisin, pear, toast and allium-esque hops--are fairly delicate.

A pillowy froth lifts a medium-light body before a tingly, semi-dry finish.

This is much better than most ostentatious, overly phenolic and spicy American attempts at Saison. That said, it's not quite able to measure up to the few greats that have raised the bar in the style, like Jester King and Hill Farmstead.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a New Belgium goblet. The beer itself is gorgeous, with a deep orange colour and a light, quickly fading head. Aroma is full on hops, with a piney and lemon smell. The taste is extremely odd in its evolution though - What starts out as kind of a farmy, fragrant saison in the front all of a sudden becomes bitter and citrusy by the finish. While not distasteful, it does feel out of place. Mouthfeel feels pretty typical for a saison style, with a decent amount of carbonation and body. All in all it's not a bad beer, but I really don't feel like these hops really work well with this style. I think a Sorachi IPA would have been a less eye-catching or interesting, but probably an overall better choice for what this beer was going for.

12 oz bottle into pint glass. Pours a medium straw color with a decent off-white head. Initial impression is Belgian yeast, lemon, and floral notes. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation. Finish is clean and dry. I'm not a fan of Belgians but this was tasty.

Pours a golden yellow. Nice, long lasting head. Well carbonated. Taste is oranges, lemons, fruit. Hops come up from below. Finish is crisp and dry. Very unique.

Always wanted to try this beer but couldn’t find it locally. DiCiccos got it, I purchased it. Very good beer. Unique lemon taste and very smooth. Love it!

Bright light golden color with moderate activity. Gets quite hazy and veiled as more yeast poured. Foamy white 3 finger head, lasting around 10-15 minutes, with average legs but a decent swirl. Flavors of toffee, brown sugar, sweet grains, cinnamon, berries, pears, Belgian yeast, and floral hops? (sorachi). Slick and smooth medium body with crispy carbonation. Medium to strong strength finish, moderately flowery while slightly leafy, soft hint of cheese, not much a fruity profile but more of a malty and bready one. No straw like effect from the absence of wheat, instead more like a sweet brown sugar barrel effect similar to a barleywine. High freshness while slightly leathery and vinous but feels proper to the ABV. Nice complexity and really well balanced with high drinkability. It's not as fluffy as a real Saison, more filling but still as uplifting. Overall superb quality craft.
