Pours a pale greenish yellow with a slight off white head.

In the nose sour, musty, yeast with earth undertones, lemon zest, cedar, and a faint malt hit.

A nice rounded mouth feel brings the flavors together as a single note. Notes of lemon, yeasty, malt bread, and bitter herb. This is a tasty, complex brew with flavors continuing to sneak up on you.

DATE: December 29, 2016... OCCASION: Having finished a monster game of LOTR Risk with Will and Michael, it's time to unwind... GLASSWARE: Corsendonk tulip pokal... slightly hazy, uber-active, swirling body of bubbles... head thickens in snowy sheets all around the glass, caking to tall icebergs--looks imperious... body is yellow gold... first hit is a wondrously aromatic cologne-like citrus, with the secondary accents of hay, lemon grass, pepper, leather, and sharp cheddar... complex and alluring.... the first sip is soft, almost soapy, with a lingering presence at its end... light-bodied, champagne-like yet not as bubbly, with a nice arrival at the teeth... in a word or two, unbelievably drinkable at 7.2%... apple, lemon, bubble gum, spicy cheese, subtle funk, some dry white grape, and slight graininess... quite a peaceful way to deliver the goods, with every category exhibiting strength and quality... a win for Brooklyn, and a great start to sampling their box set...

I believe this is one of Brooklyn's finest. Great crisp clean flavor and drinks so easy. Truely the champagne of beers. One of my favorite brews.

Pours cloudy golden with lasting cap of off-white. Aroma is very lemon/lime citrus rind. Much of this comes through in the flavor as well, though balanced with a dose of crackery malt and some almost melon-like flavors. A bit of peppery spice rounds things out and finishes rather clean and somewhat dry. Different, and nice.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter. Nice white head atop a cloudy yellow body, great lacing. Sweet fruity smell that carries over to the taste. Nice lemony and spicy. A hint of bitterness, but overall a great beer.

Bottle pour into tulip.

Lovely golden yellow colour. Nose more muted than I had anticipated; gently herbal. Quite a lot of lime flavour. Nice body with good carbonation. I had really looked forward to this but overall it didn't blow me away. Refreshing enough but ABV too high to make it sessionable.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.

L: Pours a clear light golden color. Three plus fingers of thick foamy head that lasts a long time. Fantastic lacing.

S: Lemon zest and citrus. Belgian yeasts and spice.

T/F: Very complex Saison... lots of citrus and lemon, but also pear and apricot. Good herbal notes... a bit of rosemary and peppercorn. Love the Sorachi hop character. Medium in body... aggressively carbonated and dry finish with a faint herbal aftertaste on the tongue.

O: Easily one of the best Farmhouse Ales I've had and transcends the style. A+++ all around, and well worth snagging.
